Miss Cleo repeatedly invoked her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination on Wednesday as government lawyers asked her about a birth certificate that indicates she was born in Los Angeles to American parents and threatens to shatter her image as a mystical Jamaican.
She also hinted that her signature accent that was in place Wednesday might be adopted.
Her accent might be adopted??? Really??? I'm stunned.

Now with that accent.........did she say she was a SHAMAN or a SHOWMAN? (Try saying Saint Nicholas fast 8 times & it sounds like Santa Claus-- so same principal).
Ahh, but she seen it in da cards babies! I tell you truth!

I doubt that people from Jamaica would be nearly as annoyed with you making fun of Miss Cleo's accent as they would be with her grotesque parody of an accent. That's just a guess, of course... ;)

Miss Cleo: OK, now dis ya King of Wands, he a new man in your office, right? Someone wit a lot o' personality, someone attractive, right?

Miss Cleo: Mmm-hmm, Miss Cleo knows! Now dis card ya, 7 of Swords, dat's de card of dishonesty. You been sneakin' around on someone?

Miss Cleo: Don't try to lie to Miss Cleo, she know everyting! Because right ya, we got . . . High Priestess reversed? Dat don't make no sense. Wait, here we . . . Justice? Dis is very strange. Eight of Swords?
Caller: What does the 8 of Swords mean?

I wish I could have seen this Miss Cleo at work but at least she's making the tarot popular lol - The closest I came was seeing her on her website when I had an email from her saying that she'd had a dream about me, I knew it was just a mass emailing gimick when another email address I use also received one. I had more off her but blocked them from coming through lol :)
It'll be interesting to see what happens in her court case but the saying ' what comes around goes around' keeps popping up in my head (have I said that right or should it be the other way round lol ) :)

I think, in all fairness to Miss Cleo, we oughta do some readings for her. Find out what the future holds for her--then we can have a dream about the readings to let her know what we found out? What do you say guys? 5 card spread, Jamacian accent optional? Extra credit if you use the Miss Cleo offical tarot deck (which was selling at--was it Walmart?) that was unfairly taken from the shelves when she got busted.

You know, that deck she uses didn't look familiar no matter how many decks I checked out on this site--then she says she's selling 'her' deck online now, but the one for sale ISN'T the one they use on those late night commercial spots. First thing I thought was 'oh come on! People want the same one you're using', but then she wouldn't get the money for that would she? The publisher gets it. So........she designs her own deck so she gets the dough coming in...........
Anyone know what deck she's got? The cards are longer than normal. And no, I'm NOT interested in getting it, this is just out of curiosity only. I've got PLENTY of decks here......like everyone else on the board...(we're hopeless).
Hey, if everyone did a reading for her & we all e-mailed them to her, would she read them?

I think it might be the original Rider Tarot Pack. The cards are definately RWS, but the backs threw me for a little while. I think that is really could be the Original rider Tarot Pack.

But the coloring in the deck looked way off, and so did some of the pictures (too many flowers on some cards for instance). Seems to be a non-standard shape/size.
I wonder if it's one of the German decks, we don't get exposure to many of those here. Most of the imports that show up here are out of Italy.

I remember seeing the deck. I am almost posituve that it is some sort of Rider-Waite-Smith deck.

From what I recall, Miss Cleo's deck is an RW clone with Egyptian overtones--or at least, that was the one that was selling at Walmart (or wherever).
And heck yeah, I'm serious, Pheonix. Let's get those cards out and shuffled for Miss Cleo. In fact, I've got my Zerner Farber deck right here...It understands my sense of humor and I'm sure it's as eager as I to learn Miss Cleo's future....
Let's see. Standard Wheel of Fortune spread, I think. Card in the center = present situation. Card to the right = past, Card at the bottom = what went wrong, Card to the left = near future, Top card = outcome
Uh-oh. It don't look too good for Miss Cleo!
Center: Three of Wands--She in holding pattern, waitin' for the judge to hand down that decision.
Right: The Star--see, that be Miss Cleo there, pourin' her wisdom in the past, offerin' hope and visions of the future.
Bottom: But wait, Page of cups (aka Princess of hearts). Why did she fall? Because she offered too much advise. Like the princess in the card with her letters, she got too well known for delivering her messages of love and romance. That was her downfall.
Left: Near future...uh-oh. Eight of Swords. This has been already discussed. I tink Miss Cleo gonna be spending some time behind bars. Either that or she be getting stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Top: Outcome--Nine of Pentacles. All and all, I see house arrest. Poor Miss Cleo.
And as an added bonus, what do I see on the bottom of the deck: The Devil. The moral of dee story is there ain't no winnin' when you play dee Devil's game.
