They are beautiful bags by the way.

Those are really nice jema!
And a good idea too: creating bags so you need to buy decks to fill them... ;)
Here's my latest bag. What you can't really see in the picture is that the yarn is lilac and silver. I made it for the Art Nouveau deck, which I haven't even got yet... ;)

cj, those bags in velvet - wow!
now i need to find real velvet in this town.
the stuff i have is not real velvet - but a lot flimsier, thinner and cheaper. but the embossing and pinting on yours oh and aah!
that fairy!
i must say i quite like your idea and to take it one step further would mean that i could buy a deck based on the design on the back - one never knows! it might be a wonderful surprise:)

very nice - i must learn to crochet! (or however you spell it)
hey, if you add a long strap to it - it is almost like a posh evening-bag:)

Jema, LadyTarot...
OHHHHH...WOW..I think the bags are wonderful..
Ladytarot, I agree with Jema..add a strap and you have a beautiful evening bag..or a way to cary your tarot with you and not have to put them in your bag (thus not kill your shoulder because the pocketbook weighs a ton).
keep up the wonderful work..

Hi friends,
Wow, I love your bags!
B/W crochet hand bags were very "en vogue" last year (at least here). You can still see them today.

Here too catlin!
I can crochet but my problem is where to find good and nice wool :(
I looked it up and in my city there is not one store especially for wool :(

jema & tarotlady: I really really love you bags!! (jema, especially the first one! WOW!) :) Now you've done it... I have to make myself some too. :D Hm. I can get cheap and very nice fabrics for this in Thailand. Maybe in Chinese silk... hmmmm.

Hi Maan,
What abbout a mail-order shop? Ok, I know this is not so good in case you want to touch the wool before ordering it.
It is even becoming hard here to find nice yarn for cross stiching. I wanted to make a baggie for my Greenwood deck but I only found 3 yarns out of 6 or 7 I needed :(

I will try Catlin
Luckily i'm not short on cross stitching yarn. My granny use to do that profesionally so we are drowning in the yarn ;)
I'm currently making the green man. A patron posted here by Purplelady.
BTW i just found a book on the subject ( see chat) its by dorothu Morrison called Magical needlework

oh yes, they have excellent silk there, good quality and cheap. not that i ever been - but a friend showed me a shirt they made for her when she was there.
one place to find nice fabrics is thriftshops and secondhand stores. just today i found a silvery silky blouse i will cut up and use:)
my main problem is the cords. the ones i have are too thick to make those double-cords where you pull from both ends.

I got a phone call from my mother today: she's got a sewing machine for me! She got it for free from someone who didn't need it anymore.
So now I can start sewing bags as well! :)

I like your new avatar! The colouring of the sea is really nice.
Did Kayne make it?

Yep, another one of Kayne's works of art! :)
The background colouring isn't just nice, it has a deeper meaning too... it's coloured like the back of a whale shark... :D

This is a suggestion for an inexpensive tarot travel bag...to put your beautiful larger, crushed velvet, silk-lined bags with your tarots.
I look at import or cosmetic areas for the silky lined, zippered bags, usually made with brocaded pattern or other material. These are flatter, usually have a small handle and a pretty pattern to boot. Plus the small zipper and a bit of extra size allows me to include a small pen or small piece of material for a 'laying cloth'. This is for one tarot...
You can also use small zippered bookbags that carry paperbacks...they will hold two tarots in small bags, easily, plus many have a zipper pocket for pen and pad.
Best travels with your tarot...
