Saying the question

When I do a reading for myself, I don't usually say the question out with my voice, but rather, I use my mind to 'beam' the question to my deck.

I'm not sure if this is effective. What do you think?

I think it's just as effective as saying the question out loud. I usually do the same thing. Except when I feel a bit distracted or have difficulties concentrating, then it usually helps for me to say the question out loud.

I always do it in my mind. But i extually have complete conversations with my deck :)

I only use mindspeech when reading for myself.

I say the question in my mind too - especially when reading for myself.

Mindspeech for me too.
Also because if I read for myself, I get prepared so much time ahead so as to be focused and calm.
My deck is so polite, he always listens patiently... :)

I usually hold the thought in my head unless prompted otherwise. During ritualistic readings, I say it aloud.
As others have said, I do not think it matters as long as the focus is clear.

I tend to ask my question aloud as I shuffle, but then I also comment outloud on the cards as I lay the spread then start to read them. I like to talk to my deck lol :)

Looks like a lot of us do the same thing. Usually I'm doing readings alone so there's no need to say anything out loud. I'd say 80% of the time I 'think' it too, but a few times, especially with a difficult question to phrase, I'll say it out loud.

If I was reading for another person there in front of me I find that after I clarify WHAT the question is to be usually 50% of the time I still just think it as I shuffle & do the spread. But I do verbally clarify the question with the person before I start shuffling.

Guess I am the odd one out here. I always say it aloud, and sometimes I write it down, too. I like my deck to be sure. :)

Whether I read myself, which I hardly ever do because it is so difficult to maintain objectivity, I use mindspeech...but I also ask it of my querents. I have them shuffle the deck while thinking of their question and attempting to send their energy and question into the deck.

(Sorry to be rambling sounding; my son has decided to try out his trumpet) (Rather distracting too!)

Blessings, Michelle

I converse with my deck as well. Both vocally and mentally. Sometimes I forget people are around when I talk to it and feel a little embarrassed, but with a bit of explination they stop looking at me so weird. :D
