Hello all,
Does this happen to you???
It doesn't matter what i am doing (regarding Tarot) shuffling, asking a question or just reading whats going on with me, i can't seem to stop my mind from putting on it's little running shoes and taking off!!!! I will be REALLY focused on a particular question that i want answered (repeating over and over) the suddenly my mind will just wander off somewhere, then it decides to come back only to do again!!
So now i am wondering if the readings are true to the question at hand or not ,,very strange....... This is starting to bother me as i want a clear answer, so now i don't know if i am getting one???
Well i hope i am not going MAD,( or is my "intuition" having a big party all of it's own??? )
Well i hope there are others out there that are just like me???
If not, help is needed here.
Cheers

Are you sure that your mind actually IS wandering off the point, or is it your other-than-conscious mind attempting to communicate with you and your conscious mind going 'that's irrelevant stop it?'
Why not ask yourself 'how might that thought be relevant to my question' next time this happens and see what answer comes into your head. If it isn't, just say 'thanks, can we do this after I've drawn the cards'.
Something I feel helps me is to ask myself 'is it OK to spend the next (whatever) concentrating on (question) as I shuffle and draw the cards' and make sure I get an internal 'Yes'. Sometimes that way I get things I need to do first, sometimes I get a little list of other stuff to do later which I write down before I go on, sometimes I get info which means I change the question to something more appropriate... etc. Works for me, you may need something different for you.

It sounds to me like the ‘intuitive’ side (psychic) is simply getting ready for the spread.
You may want to channel this activity so that once the spread is laid out, you look at it, and ‘let it fly’.

My mind does this sometimes too Kazz. Mine tends to be either running on six tracks at once or totally focused on something, and then the house could be burning down and I would probably not notice.
I've found when I'm in my (more usual) scattered state it sometimes helps me to do a little ritual before I start shuffling. Mine is to light a candle, take a few deep breaths and then concentrate on the candle flame for a few seconds, take a few more breaths, and then I can *usually* concentrate on my question long enough to shuffle. I think any ritual would work, as a way to start focusing. Of course, your milage may vary. :D
I figure, like Aerin and Umbrae said, once I've shuffled, my mind is free to go it's merry way, which may take my reading where it needs to go.

Well guys,
I want to say that you have been (as usual) very helpful, and i never thought of it as my "intuition" trying to tell me something in regards to my question, but i have to wonder what it is trying to say to me when i am suddenly finding myself thinking about what i am going to cook for dinner ????
and yes you know i think i will try and relax, light a candle, maybe put a little music on, then i will proceed with the shuffling and see how i go from there. Thankyou , good tip
Cheers

When you start to meditate, you'll have the same problem: there you are sitting, trying to concentrate on your mantra and suddenly you find yourself contemplating the latest argument at work, what you'll have for dinner, and the dog needs to be taken to the vet tomorrow ... It's just a matter of mental discipline and you'll have to train yourself just like with every other new skill you learn.
Don't try to *force* your concentration, because your mind will only struggle harder to keep its freedom; and the pressure will get so intense that you may soon feel unable to sit down and do a reading at all. If your mind wanders, bring it gently back to the subject and trust that you unconscious knows what you meant. It can be helpful to write the question down or to say it aloud, thereby "fixing" it.

I think you are probably at a plateau. Between learning stages (hunt down the two posts by some guy, entitled “Why they come to us” parts 1 & 2).
But do not stress over it. Your mind wants to think about dinner, or whatever, let it go…
