Lots of people have a card in their deck that is like their "totem" card.
You know- The ones that mean you in the deck or the one that you are closest to. Perhaps closest in a particular deck.
From nearly my first tarot deck to this day and almost every deck in between, I am a Fool.....

The Star card is the card that I'm drawn to the most. When I open a deck for the first time, I usually check out the Star card first, then the High Priestess.

I used to always be the High Priestess and/or Princess of Swords. The last year or so though it's been Empress and World. Princess of Swords and High Priestess still turn up on occasion to remind me their still there though.

i used to be attracted to the queen of swords, because i felt i could relate most to her, but i aspired to be like the high priestess.
now i can't get the hanged man out of my head, lol. maybe it's because he's been showing up in my readings a lot. a whole lot, lol.

Mine has always been the Moon. It speaks to me of the choices I make every day, between what I want to do, and what I have to do, and the different aspects of myself, the imaginative writer, and the reliable employee. Plus other things.
If I like the moon card, chances are good I'll like the other cards in a deck. :TMOON

I've felt like the Page of Pentackles lately, but this is not the card I connect best with; my favorite cards. They are the Lovers, the King of Cups (right, Maan? ;) ) and the Ace of Swords.

It used to be seven coins.

Earlier my 'totem'-card was the Hermit, since it's my sun-sign-card, my personality and soul card and since 9s rule my life in general! Just check out my birthdate: 09.09.1980 = 9 too! :D However, I'm not especially attracted to the Hermit anymore..

i got a few.
the hierophant - that is my birthcard, and a good card to compare decks with. (perhaps that is why i never learnt to like the robin wood)
the hierophant is for me also the tarot-reader - a carrier of wisdom and tradition.
i also identify with the chariot - for being a cancer
often i can find myself in the queen of wands (the good times)
or the hanged man (the not so good times)

wow so many aspire to be like me hehe

High Priestess is my Soul Card, my personality is Justice or Strength depending on the deck, but I feel closer to strength than Justice, except the perfect balance aspect of Justice
My court card should be Queen of Wands going astrologically(im a fire sign and a mother) utIve always felt more of a Queen of Cups personalilty, maybe even a reversed Queen of Cups personality hehe. I physically fit into Waites description of a cups person anyway :) (light brown hair, blue eyes)

Well Liliana you and I are more alike than we knew! ~chuckles~ My soul card is also the HP and there is the strength/justice thing which has taught me that I prefer Justice in position 8 and strength in 11. I totally identify with the Queen of Wands. So HP and QW for me.

My favorite card is The Star :TSTAR - I just love the symbolism - it's always the card I look for first.
My totem card would be Queen of Cups :TQC - I feel I'm most like her, even though the Queen of Swords :TQS is my zodiac card (libra).

I would say that the Star and Moon are tied for second totem cards. (Can you tell I am not a morning person?) I am still a Fool first, by miles and miles......
I notice that the High Priestess is very popular around here....

I think probably the Lovers and the Queen of Swords. I always like to see what the Queen looks like because that was the card I used to use as my sig., before I stopped using them. I love the Queen of Swords in the Robin Wood deck.
And the Lovers not only because it is my Personal and Soul card, but also because I like the idea that my life is all about the choices I make from the temptations I am given (Devil is the Shadow for Lovers).

When I got started with the Tarot, I got the Queen of Swords in practically all my readings, and in such positions it was pretty obvious it was referring to me. I hated it. I couldn't relate to it at all, to be the Queen of Swords was a dark and gloomy card, a card symbolizing someone so nasty no-one wanted anything to do with her, hence her loneliness...
But then my interpretation of the card has gained a couple (or more avtually) of levels of depth, and well, what can I say? I am her, like it or not. She's not that bad after all, especially not when mixed with her fiery sister, the Queen of Wands, as with me...!
Like Jema my soulcard is the Hierophant, therefore I relate very much to that card too. He is my calling, my purpose (?) and my path. The Queens of Swords and Wands are just the way I am...!

Hermit, High Priestess and The Moon are the cards I always look at first .
Queen of Cups as a significator. Right now I'm battling with the Empress - trying to find a balance between my spiritual and material life.

The Chariot is my favorite card, although I seldom get it. I like to think of myself as a traveler and explorer. Perhaps that's why I also identify with both the Magician and the High Priestess. I think that both are exploring the secrets and qualities of the Universe, and seeing how they can be used for the benefit of my own and others' lives. Studying spirituality and occultism has pretty much been the center of my life the past few years.

I think mine is the Queen of Wands, though every book I've ever read tells me differently. It doesn't match my character, etc. But who needs books? ;)

Through high school and the first couple of years of college i had a denim jacket that i wore to death-- i had painted the rider magician on the back. that was quite some time ago.
i'm not sure who (or what) i would most related to, but the star is a good bet...
and i can tell whether i'll get along with a deck or not by my reaction to the queen of cups.

It's so hard to pick just one!
I feel a strong connection to the Star because I'm supposed to be the Star in a deck a friend of mine is maybe going to do (the project is on the back burner).
Most books say that the Queen of Pentacles should be my signifier, so even though I rarely use signifiers, I try to check and make sure I like this card and also the Princess of Pentacles if there is one. I like this queen a lot in most of my favorite decks -- for example, Art Nouveau and Gendron.
The Nine of Pentacles is a card I aspire to be more like -- strong, independent, and confident. I especially like this one in the Art Nouveau, where the woman is holding the stained glass and admiring her work and the man is standing behind her looking proud of her. Success of all sorts!
Other cards I really need to like to like a deck are the Lovers, the Nine and Ten of Cups, and the Ten of Pentacles. Since most of these cards represent happy things, I like for their appearances to make me happy too.

Temperance.
When I grow up and become a great artist ;) my Temperance card will show:
a person of mixed race, sitting relaxed at the edge of a stream with one foot on land and one in the water. s/he will be juggling balls of coloured light, and as they cross each other the light becomes a powerful beam of white light shining out of the picture towards you.
I wish I could draw :D

High Priestess and the Queen of Cups.
It seems like the HP is one of my favorite cards in any deck I see.
I can't think of a HP that I haven't liked... and she resonates to me. Queen of Cups is just so me...
though technically I should be a Queen of Pentacles as sign. (I am a taurus and 33) and my personality card is the Universe
and my soul symbol is the Empress! Geesh, did I get screwed up? Oh well, you go with what makes sense to you...

If you can't make a living drawing and painting, you should really do well as a writer. Your imagery is sparkling, vivid and a joy to read.

The Fool, Star, Strength, and the Hanged Man. And the 2 of pentacles, especially if it shows a performer (usually a juggler.)

yikes -- actually, me too. Those and the queen of swords.
My "personality card" is Strength or Justice, depending on the deck, and my soul card is the Star. This latter makes a lot of sense. I have always had this feeling of being a wounded optimist, putting on an act for defense but full of childlike hope at my core, yadda yadda (I'm sure I'm not the only one here with feelings like that :) ). The card that I feel I aspire to most, or look up to most, is the High Priestess.
I used to identify most with the Queen of Swords, but that seems to be shifting toward Page of Swords... almost as if I'm getting younger and less mature, but also less wounded?...
