A VERY looooong time ago, we had a discussion about what cards from what deck you would hang on the wall for inspiration.
MeeWah has done this... and now I have too. I recently got my altar together and decided that on that same wall I would copy and enlarge a few inspirational cards. I took a few cards to Staples and had them color copy and enlarge them to approx. 5x7 and put them in an 8x10 frame with a black mat.
Here's what I chose (from the decks I have):
Magician = Robin Wood
Universe = World Spirit (used oragne mat)
Wheel = Mythic
HP = Goddess
Justice = Legend Arthurian
The Sage = Faerie's Oracle (used brown mat)
and on a smaller wall:
Morgan Le Faye = Goddess Oracle
Cerridwen = Goddess Oracle
I may change them around a few times as I need different inspiration. What would you choose?

Well Id get one of those large poster frames and put an entire deck up, but then I couldnt use it :)
Id probably choose cards from the I Am One deck, or Margarete Peterson deck, as they have awesome art. Id make a grouping of High Priestesses, in fact Ive been considering getting some High Priestess images offline and putting them all together to make a new tarot desktop wallpaper, as my old ones are boring me lol.
Id choose World Spirit World card too, I think its why I bought the deck :) And the King, Queen, and Princess of cups and Princess of Pentacles from the Spiral Tarot, as I see them as representing me, my huband, and 2 daughters (I used to consider my husband the Knight, but since becoming a Father he upgraded to King hehe)

I would choose cards from the Osho Zen, for example the Page of Water (Understanding), the Ace of Water (Going with the flow) and the Ten of Water (Harmony).
And probably some cards from the Australian Dreamtime Tarot. I particularly like the Lovers card from that deck.

I've got Marvin Hill's "Fragments of a Dream Tarot" hanging on my wall. The 12 cards shown are:
A Mysterious Cargo
The Infinite River
Nine Serpents Carry Stars to the Queen
All Falls From the Horn of the Sky
The Living Furnace
The Dog Speaks of Matters He Cannot Know
Water That Does Not Wet the Hands
The Fisher King
Hermes of the Witches
At Last He Sleeps Without Dreams
If We Had Children, Would They Belong to the Sea?
The Wind Whistles Through My Branches

I went to Marvin Hills link but couldn't find the tarot deck. Calling it up on google didn't help me either. Is there another link?

Sorry, the link is just to his site, not to the cards. I don't think the cards themselves are visible online anywhere (and they don't constitute a whole deck yet). But his site does have a schedule of art fair appearances, and if you're in Milwaukee, you're probably within reach of at least a couple of them. His work is worth a trip.

I could hang something of the WolfTarot on my wall, I already have a big poster of wolves anyway ;)
Above my bed I would choose a card from the Celtic Dragon, that has all the dragons curled up and sleeping peacefully (i think it's pentacles 7) and the Moon card from the Sacred Circle: lovely purple sky and bats.
Purely for decoration I would choose the High Priestess of the Cosmic.
And I would choose for improving my mood some cards from the shapeshifter. Most cards would do since it's a very uplifting deck, apart from a few of the swords cards.

At one point in time, I had played with the idea of making an artwork out of lots of different decks, like a picture with nothing but Fool cards, and other one with nothing but Empresses and so forth.....
And then it was decided that havcing 78 pictures in the house and no deck to read with might not really the greatest idea....

I've considered selecting tarot cards to enlargement for inspirational purposes, those that hold positive attributes I aspire to and then change them as need be. I like the suggestions mentioned above!
Namaste,

having dabbled oh so briefly with feng shui, i have a framed three of cups in the relationships area of my room.
i would enlarge and hang the world and several other cards from tarot nova, a few from osho zen. in fact, i'd prefer to have the osho zen 3 of cups where my RWS 3 of cups is... oh! gotta get to kinko's!

About a year ago I scanned the Hermit from my Universal Waite deck into my Mac, enlarged it to 5x7 (any larger got too fuzzy looking even with PhotoShop), printed it out on good photo paper, put dark green matte around it and a nice 8x10 oak frame.
It hangs over my computer/Tarot Journal workstation.
I've done other cards from other decks for friends.

I caught the tarot decorating spirit some time ago and decided to retile my shower with a mosaic based on the Sun card. I've used 4 colours of tile and 3 colours of grout to achieve the design - there's the Sun on the back wall and sunflowers on the side wall. The design is only really complete when a man and woman share the shower. })

Kayne's 21st Century Tarot's Lover card has the man/woman lying on the bed, with a blowup of the Rider Waite angel from the Lovers card hanging above. When I saw that I said that Id love to have one of those pics for above my bed :)

...when i was much younger and the only tarot deck i could find was the ijj swiss, i painted the fool on the wall. it was about five feet high, and on a slightly slanted wall (it was the top floor, so the roof was part of the wall)
a little later, when they decided to release a different deck, i wound up with the RS magician on my back (no monkey's please!! :D ) for a few years.

Along with collecting decks, I've been collecting some very cool bags to keep them in. I'm planning to move to a house with more wall space in the bedroom, and I am going to hang a dislpay of my favorite decks in their bags on hooks, and mount them on a strip of molding. I will keep my tarot basket (where I keep most of my decks) under the bags.

Thanks for reminding me!!!! Off to Kinko's now! LOL

Major Tom: WOW, I love tile work & that is a work of art (& I suspect, a labor of love)! I would love to let you loose in my both of my bathrooms! To re-do the tiles, that is :)

I got enlarged copies of the whole major arcana from my deck and colured them in myself. it was an interesting project as it really makes you think what the caeds mean to you as your'e colouring them in. this way youve got the spiritual cards from your fave deck and personalised with your own coulouring. I have the whole lot set out on my huge wall and i change the layout as necessary (at the moment it is set out as the tree of life) very good way of studying different systems.

I don't know if I'd have the patience to do that.
I paint casually as a hobby and recently bought myself an enlarger from the art supply store I frequent. I plan to paint ( on canvas) the Star(my favorite card-it inspires me so much) and hang it in a room where I plan to do tarot readings as a small business one day. Thats my pipedream anyway. I also thought getting The Star rendered in colored glass and hung as a window would be an awesome idea too-but probably very expensive. My sister does some glasswork so I know it is costly but think about the effect with sunlight streaming in!

Wow, WildChild! Thanks for that link, those vessels are amazing!
As far as stained glass version of the cards go, I think that's a great idea! If the cost is too prohibitive you may want to check into some other products at a craft store or something. You could do it in "Gallery Glass" which is a paint on product, and I believe it peels back off too. That would be great for someone living in an apartment. They can take it down when they move.

I'm planning to get a shadowbox or two, and mount (non-permanently) arrangements of cards from some of my favourite non-reading decks. I have a lot of decks that I love for the art, but don't use, and it's a shame to have them just living shut up in boxes. Candidates include the court cards from the Robin Wood (the only cards I like from that deck); some cards from my original majors-only Tarocchi delle Origini; the Vertigo; the Erotic.
Another project for the long and ever-growing list.

I just got the Tarot of Prague, and Karen is giving a free A5 print of any card from the deck if you order directly from her. I chose the 9 of Swords, put a red matte behind it and put it in a gold tone, wooden frame. It's very striking. I hung it on the wall above the bedpost that has my "Ram's head skull" halloween mask on it (his name is Morty). It's an otherwise cheery room- I love bright colors and it looks sort of like an organized kalidescope- the picture, with it's cemetary statuary, hanging over Morty, adds just the proper hint of the skull beneath the skin; keeps things grounded.

I don't know why but I just love this card. My lover took it to be framed, and together with the person in the art store, they chose a wooden frame. I have no idea what it will look like, but when we get it back, we're going to hang it in the living room where it will be the first thing one sees on entering the house.

I have elected to have copies made of my favorite cards from all my decks printed out in high def color on 8 1/2 x 11 photographic paper (my sister did this for me as an Xmas gift) and then I will frame and hang on the wall in our baement when it is ready.
They seem to all be Sun, Moon or Star - I might have a Temperence in there. The decks I used were eithere decks which I love the artwork but can't work with them (Tarot of Trance, Aboroginal art deck) or just love th artwork from 9Shing Tribe).
In hindesight, they all have another theme - they are all naively drawn.

The Faerie's Oracle counts, genna! I have the Sage on my wall. I also have some cards from the Goddess Oracle as well. I may add some from the Fairy Ring Oracle eventually too, when I re-decorate again.
Your cross formation sounds cool, Carrie. Do you have a pic of it you can post?

I'll check my pictures and let ya know, otherwise it will be a few days because i'll have to take a picture and get it developed and then send it. I do have a scanner so that part wouldn't be hard. Hopefully, I have a picture of it in the background I can enlarge.
