Coincidence or fate?

A woman asked for a reading. She works in a wildlife care center, and one of her patients is a bird of prey, with whom she has developed a rapport.

Using the Motherpeace Tarot, I drew two cards for her, the Star and the Shaman. Both of these cards have birds of prey as symbols.

By trade, I'm an attorney and somewhat skeptical. But this coincidence reinforces my belief that Tarot is the real deal. Frankly, it was a little on the spooky side.

I only hope that my skills enable me to accurately read what is in front of me.

Well, I wouldn't say it was coincidence, if tarot was nothing more than coincidence, what would be the point of using it as a divination tool? ;)
I don't think fate is the right word here. Fate has more to do with predeterminism. You drawing two cards that referenced her occupation is to be expected, especially if you were doing a reading regarding her job.

.....or synchronicity :-)

This might be hard for an attorney, but don't argue with the tarot.

I've got another one.

I do local theater, and a play I was performing in had some racy humor in it. Nothing terrible, just racy. There should have been a warning about it, but there wasn't, and a couple of people complained.

Certain members of the board decided to censor those parts. It was handled badly, and the cast ended up being very hurt and angry.

I did a three card spread just as an overview of the situation with my Victoria Regina.

First card was the Princess of Coins. In the VR, this is a picture of Princess Beatrice, Victoria's youngest daughter and private secretary. Victoria left instructions to Beatrice that after her death, Beatrice was to go back, censor, and rewrite anything in her mother's private papers that cast Victoria in an unflattering light. Beatrice did it, too.

The third card was the Prince of Wands. This is a picture of Oscar Wilde in the VR, a celebrated playwright who was eventually imprisoned for libel. He was also known for his sexual exploits.

I found these two cards to be directly related to the situtation I found myself in. It was rather spookily on!

For those interested, my second card was the Nine of Coins.

While I wasn't entirely sure what the cards' message was, I definately felt like I had their sympathies!

Co-incidences are fate- no "or" involved!
It is amazing how mundane tarot can be sometimes- we often overlook the simple interpretations for something that might sound deeper or more complex.
BTW great to see you pop back up Divinerguy- I always enjoyed your posts!

I had my deck at work to show another co-worker who had questions about tarot (her 13 year old daughter was interested in it) and let the guy from Finance borrow my deck for a reading he wanted to do on himself--I showed him a 5 card lay, how to shuffle & handed him the deck & the little white book.

He was skeptical about tarot but had seen others use it & while at the time I wasn't sure about his motivation, I wasn't worried about letting him use my Robin Wood deck.

He did the spread without saying the question out loud (I told him it was ok to think it as he shuffled & laid the cards out), looked in the book for all the card meanings & got this odd look on his face. I asked if he was ok, and he said he'd asked if he was ever going to be able to father children (he's 24) & the spread said very distinctly NO. He said he'd just had a doctor's appointment the previous day & the doctor said no too, that his sperm count was so low it'd be impossible to have kids.

Hmm.

I guess it's likely that we all go through this fase the first times a reading falls in place so well, that it surprises even those who didn't consider themselves as "skeptics". Heck - I did a loose draw earlier this week - got the three and five of swords, only to get stabbed in the back (figuratively) by a co-worker during a company-meeting in the afternoon.
By the way - don' recall who said that - if coïncidence is fate, than what seemed like coïncidence ...was never coïncidence to begun with ??

Even after 2 years my decks still surprise me with their accuracy and synchronicity.

For example: after doing a spread with the Faeries Oracle recently I was still a bit confused because it was a personal financial matter and I wasn't sure if I was understanding it objectively/clearly or not.

I wanted a clear answer as to what I should do next to be in harmony with my path--which at this time I took to be represented in the spread's overall summary/theme card: Geeeeeooo the Slow, so the next card I pulled was the Singer of the Chalice and of course I was still thrown off.... So I actually went to the Faeries' LWB (*hearing gasps from those that want LWBs burnt* :) ) and I flipped to Geeeeeooo's page and it mentioned to cultivate a relationship with the Singer of the Chalice.

I was really stunned at the fact that the one card I pulled out of the 52 cards left in the deck was the one that Geeeeeoo says I should cultivate a relationship with. (The reason the number of cards was 52 is because I had pulled 13 cards for the spread before I pulled the Singer of the Chalice)

While I'm still trying to apply the reading to my life and cultivate a relationship with the Singer of the Chalice I'm also still marvelling over the synchronicity (or whatever you want to call it).

I believe tarot isn't just coincidence but much more than that.
