Recently, I have had a couple of really cool decks find their way to me.
#1
I just got a vintage Aquarian Tarot off ebay from a seller who is listing new, unopened Aquarian decks from the 70's in the black box, some kind of limited "teaching" version with meanings printed on them. I always wanted a vintage version, and I certainly never thought I would find an unopened one!
#2
I bought a used tarot book about 6 months ago online, and the seller threw in a free tarot deck - a complete surprise! That was nice enough, but I just found out that the Jungian Tarot she sent is rare & expensive !
So I was wondering about your coolest finds, & the most interesting ways decks have found their way into your hands.

I found the Nigel Jackson tarot on Half.com for less than 1/2 price. I just got it today and I can't tell you how pleased I am! It's stunning! Can't wait to read with it.

My coolest is being given a deck by some special people just by showing how I appreciated them, i mentioned it only in passing and never dreamed theyd decide to give it to me, since its not sure where they can get anymore
Its my tiny little rider waite gone anime deck called Pocketable, and I adore it too much to use it because it isnt grat card stock. maybe Ill put it in a large bag and draw the cards like runes sometimes, that should damage them less hehe.
Of course getting the very last copy of the Book of Chaos is great too, including getting special xeroxed copies of original versions of the cards, and winning a caring psychic family deck was pretty cool :)
But those are the only exciting decks in my collection

An acquaintance here on Aeclectic sent me a nice Tarot bag along with a Voyager deck/book set.
Nice set, nice bag, nice person. Thanks Metaz.

the coolest deck i've found was The Illuminating Tarots. I saw it in my local metaphysical store for $6, so i figured, what the hell, i'll buy it. and it turned into one of my favorite decks!

Swapped my Tarots of the Origins, plus a few shekels, for the Haindl Tarot.
At first, the artwork looked faded and washed out, but if you take a moment and look more closely, you'll see many levels, and a great body of symbols.
Rachel Pollack has written three books about this deck.

The coolest find for me was the Mountain Dream Tarot - a limited edition deck for only $20! Of course by the time I paid the shipping charge it cost me £20. })

my coolest find was when I bought a lot of tarot decks sight unseen for about $30.00 and one of the decks was the deLaurence - 1916-1918 yellow deck, it is missing four cards (sniff sniff) but has such a wonderful feel and energy to it! If anyone can make scans of the missing cards please let me know
Thanks

What outlet store for Borders?
Just curious.
I keep seeing Tarot of the Southwest Tribes by U.S. Games for sale about $5.00 and saw a Tarot of the Cloisters also for sale for the same price. But its in the bargain section of my Borders bookstore, not a separate outlet.
There's a used bookstore owned by an Ananda Bookbuyers group that sometimes has interesting, used cards...I picked up a Shakespherean by Doreen Ascroft Norwicki there. I didn't pick up two oracle card sets which are now out of print, which were the Russell Grant and Lynn Andrews cards.
Now I'll keep my eyes out for outlets.

I was looking for the Dreampower tarot. It has been out of print, and virtually impossible to find. I was surfing the net and ran across some used deck/book listings. A girl was selling the complete dreampower set for 40 dollars! My former BF was sitting next to me and said, "I'll get that for you if you want" so we ordered it! It was shipped right out, and in two days I received it. I love it, but it's a really different system, and I haven't figured it out yet. I guess that was the purpose of the BF, because we broke up a week later.
Other gorgeous, unusual decks: Voyager. One of my favourites, and I work with it a lot. A gift from a friend who bought it and didn't connect with it.
Oshs Zen: Purchased today! Really cool, I dig this one, and can see all kinds of really creative reading possibilities.

First off, I acquired the OOP Hermetic, when a friend gave it to me after hving used it to study, but given up on it! It wasn't unti lsometimes later that I found out it was OOP.
Secondly, I came across teh Shakespearian Tarot by Ashcroft-Nowicki for mere £7.99. That deck is now very har to find.
Thirdly, I had all but given up hope of getting a Pagan 2000 dec, until Faryhedgehof found out about a deck and book set available on te web fr only £9.99! Needless to say, I got down on my knees and begged FH to hlp me get that deck! (Thanks FH! :*)
Lastly, the Greenwood was basically out of my reach cuz its OOP. But one day, whilst I was busy on Aeclectic, my boyf went to ton with a friend of his, and happened to see the Greenwood in a shop. He bought it, and, although it did't have a box, I was really plased!
Of course, my most recentacquiition was an OOP deck that was first printed exclusively for a Teen Girl magazine called SUgar in 1997. Due to it being a free Traot deck, it was most inevitably thrown in the bin at some point over the years, andfew copies remain. I had this deck from that magazine but lost it, and a few weeks ago acquired it once more through Ebay, although it cost me a bomb!
There's some of my best deck fins... I think I Have more, bu can't remember them right now. Oh! WIliam Blake! Another which s OOP and hard to get, but I got it!
Yeah baby!

Yep, Astro Tarot by Russell Grant was what I saw some months ago at a used bookstore. It has costumed people for the Asian calendar characters/animals.
At the time, it wasn't for me. If my sis wants to continue to collect astro-tarot variations, I may get it for her. I gave her two versions of the Minchiate---one was a closeout find, the Lo Scarabeo version. She's into some art illuminations and celtic decks at the moment, so the Courtney Davis Celtic Tarot is my latest find for her.
Best wishes.

my coolest findings has almost always taken place right here:)
i have meet some wonderful people to trade decks with.
the coolest of them all was of course the transformational deck.
(adore that one)
oh and the tarotdeck i got as a gift from kaz - the Thoth deck!
(i am a Thoth-person now. it is my primary deck still)
and thirdly - the friend who gave me her old vintage aquarian.
we just don't have many great shops for cards in sweden, at least not living so far up north as i do. i have to rely on kindness and luck to get me the decks i want.
