OK since it`s my soul card and one of my favorites in most decks I`ll jump right on the bandwagon and ask what`s your favorite Empress card? Mine`s the World Spirit one, she just looks so - lush.
Oh here`s a picture:

The Empress from the Gill is my favorite. The picture on that card seems to best express my idea of the Empress, plus I love the colors used.

I always check out the empress when i buy i new deck. She's my personality and soul card. So she is really special to me.
My favorite is like the empress from the spiral, gill and the one starfish already showed the one from the world spirit!
The spiral makes here really motherly/ The gill really earthmother and the world spirit make's here a little sensual.

Mine are World Spirit and Gill too. Although the one from Celtic Dragon is very pretty too.

So many great Empresses!! I adore the Rohrig Empress, and I think Roja's Empress from her in-progress deck is terrific. And Guinevere in the Legend Arthurian is just gorgeous.

I'm like Maan: The Empress is very special to me, and that is the card I check out first in an deck I wish to by.
My fave has to be... Shapeshifter and Robin Wood.

My favorite empress is the one from the Halloween deck. She's the bride of frankenstien. :) Of course then Frankenstien is the Emperor.

I like the Empress in the Hudes deck. It's a pretty card with its background of autumn leaves. She looks calm and regal. I wouldn't mind living in her empire.

My favourite Empress is the one from the Spiral tarot.
The card is beautifully drawn and the colours bright. She sits on a throne in a garden/field surrounded by wheat and flowers, tree's and a waterfall in the background of her, with the sun shining an outline behind her head. She's looking straight at you and her expression is one of knowing and calm lol :)

I'll decide whether to buy a deck on the strength of the Empress alone. She is my card, completely and utterly. With a two year old, and six weeks away from another baby, motherhood has turned my life upside down!
I like her to be earthy, very feminine (but not weak), abundant and plush, a little sexy. I haven't found the perfect one yet. But I do like the world spirit one, hadn't seen it before. Rider Waite isn't too bad, I love the crown of stars, and Tarot of the Moon Garden is ok (also wears a crown of stars- each one representing an astrological sign). Bright mother from the Faerie Oracles protrays this archetype beautifully for me!
I cannot stand, absolutely abhor, the Empress from the Robin Hood deck, for so many reasons. It completely turned me off the deck.

Butterfly! How exciting. Congratulations on your upcoming bundle, actually both of them with your two year old. Here's hoping for a quick and easy delivery for you (or a good epidural, whichever you prefer :D )

I am going to put forward the Empress that I designed for my 21st Century Tarot. It is a modern Aboriginal woman who is painting while pregnant. The idea that the earth is mother is very important in many traditional aboriginal cultures and Aboriginal artists often continue to reflect that idea in their art work and stories. This card is dedicated to my favourite Noongar artist and writer, Sally Morgan.

Well, since Kayne didn't vote for it this time, ;) I'll put forward the Empress from the Cosmic Tribe. I get such a wonderful feeling from her! I usually don't get that excited about the Empress card (can you tell I'm single with NO plans for motherhood in my near future? ;) ), but the CT's Empress is so full of life and growth.
Although your Empress does give me a warm, fuzzy feeling, too, Kayne!
Peace,
Melvis

Yep the Gill Empress for me!!! the Cosmic Tribe Empress comes in a very very very very close second ... Melvis thanks for posting a picture of her! This was a very very tough decision for me.
Kayne your Empress is beautiful ... great job!

I saw one this weekend I loved: the Empress from the Celtic Dragon. She seems so free and happy, just standing there joking with the dragon.

I've always loved the New Palladini Empress card. She is so beautiful and the colors of the card are so rich and lend well to the meaning of the card. Her expression is perfect: dignified and serene! Here is a link that has the card in the upper left corner:

Just had to reply to this old thread.
Favourite - Mythic.
Least favourite - Fantastical. That is NOT lush.

I'm currently compiling a list (so far mainly in my head) of my 78 favourite tarot cards. Sort of an 'ideal' deck.
There are a lot of cards I have a hard time deciding on. Of course, I could take most of them (though not Temperance/Art) from my favourite deck, but I'm trying to make my decisions as diverse as possible.
My favourite Empress, however, does come from my favourite deck: The Cosmic Tribe.
It;s usually a card that doesn't mean a lot to me, I don't seem to have a lot of affinity for the 'nurturing, motherly' idea. The Cosmic Tribe Empress, however, is about creativity, and living, sensing, beauty, and being one with the earth. I love her, she is so much fun!

Like many here, my favorite Empress is in the Gill tarot. In fact, she's the reason I bought the deck (which I very much admire overall) -- to me, she beautifully embodies the essence of the Empress.

For me, it would be the Empress from Tarot of the Old Path. She is very beautiful and motherly. I also like all the animals included in the picture, which is something I haven't seen in another Empress card.

My favourite empress actually isn't from a tarot card. But this painting by Shaw is the best representation of her I have ever seen... all she needs to be and more. fertile, sexy. beautiful, loving...

I first posted in this thread in July last year, but tastes change and so has my favourite Empress (sorry Spiral)
My favourite Empress is now the one from the Rohrig tarot, she's just so modern looking, with her spikey hair replacing the crown of stars and a fur around her neck. Not the traditional Empress at all lol :)

My favourite empress must be from the Legend:Arthurian Tarot deck. When I think of empress I think immediately of that card!

Like temperlyne, my favorite Empress is not a tarot card but a representation of it. This image is shown in the "Celtic Lunar Zodiac" by Helena Peterson and Illustrated by Margaret Walty.
She makes such beautiful work and it's such a shame that she hasn't made a tarot deck.
You can see the image I'm talking about here: Empress representation
Her regular site is here: Margaret Walty
edit: I love Guenevere in Legend too! But if I to pick an Empress card from a tarot deck, I'd have to choose the Empress from the (LS) Fey Tarot deck. She is so gorgeous and the baby unicorn/puppy is absolutely adorable. Here's a scan of her: Fey Tarot- Tarot Garden
