Guess I better start who your favorite High Priestess?

Other than me and my avatar of course. Another tough one for me, being my card I love them all, one of the high ranking ones is the Templar Tarot tho. Dont like most of the deck but the High Priestess is stunning. Also any deck depicting Mary Magdalene as the High Priestess. Ill probably think of more later, have to go away soon hehe :THP

I Love the High Priestess, and there are so many! I LOVE the cosmic tribe HP! And also the Enchanted.

I must start with the Robin Wood Hig Priestess. Just so simple and beautiful. The spiral high priestess is great too. The LAT hight priestess is also really gorgeous! Its a card i like in almost every deck anyway. Maybe i should name the one's i don't like ;)

I think I am caught between the tapestry feel of the Enchanted Tarot's High Priestess- or the symbolic, ritualistic version in the Alchemical Tarot.

Definitely the Robin Wood High Priestess - she's gorgeous. I also like the Whimsical deck's Fairy Godmother as the High Priestess. :T9C Starfish

I like the HPss form the Ancestral Path Tarot the most, but I also like the one from the Dragon Tarot and Sacred Circle!

my favorite HP's are from tarot for cats, templar, and the legend arthurian. i really like most of the HP's i see. my first fav HP was from the hoi polloi.

Again... Cosmic Tribe! She is just so powerful! I am going to chuck my 21st Century Tarot Priestess in too because this is really how I would see her if she was around and living in our world today... (besides you of course Liliana!)

I like the HP of the Cosmic tarot (no I did not say Cosmic tribe ;)) It was the only card of this deck I remembered, I did not know the name of the deck or anything... then by accident (or is there anything like this in tarot ;)) I clicked Cosmic when I was looking for another deck with C, then I saw her again. Now I just bought the deck at ebay it just did not have a box but I don't want the box anyway hehe. I wonder how I like the rest of the deck really...

I'm sorry -- I can't help it. It's my nature. I'll never see this card as "the High Priestess;" I always edit the title to read as the original does: "The Female Pope," or "the Papesse." That's how she's identified in the early Italian decks and all the Marseilles decks. And she was certainly one of the strangest, most mysterious, and (some would say) sacreligious cards. My own version is based on the Visconti-Sforza's:

i don't know if anyone mentioned this deck yet in this thread - but my favorite High Priestess is the Waite-Smith one. for me she IS the High Priestess more then any other card in any other deck. when i close my eyes and think if here - that is the image i see before me.

Im not listening on the Margarete Peterson deck lalala I cant hear you, I already in tarot debt cant afford it right now hehe, especially after hearing there was only 1 copy of a deck I really wanted left and having to buy it ;) Arcus Arcanum has a great High Priestess too, with a waterfall visible behing her veil, I really like it. Rohrig has an interesting High Priestess, she has her eyes closed and above her head is a large rendering of a moon, possibly in eclipse. Most interesting tho, in the book it says the woman on the High Priestess is the same one as on Judgement, in Judgement she has her eyes open, with the beginning of the trumpet below. I dont really see much resemblance, but I like the 2-20 relationship there. When I see Rohrigs High Priestess I always think of one of my favorite movies, the Neverending Story. Remeber there was the gate with the 2 sphinxes that kept their eyes shut until someone passed through didnt believe in themselves, they their eyes opened and light shot out to kill them. I just get the same kind of effect from her, that if she opened her eyes light searing straight through your soul would shoot out. :THP

I love that part of Neverending Story! What a great anaology. My 2 faves are the HP from the Goddess Tarot, she is Sarasvati. And the HP from the World Spirit: a nude (blue) woman standing in a circle of stones and fire with her hands raised. Her shadow slinks down the path that leads to her circle. Very cool image. I don't think I've ever met an HP I didn't like (don't let that go to your head, Liliana). ;) Rhiannon :)

I like the Hudes High Priestess. She holds a book, but the pages are blank. Her dress, however, is printed all over with words. I'm not entirely sure what this really means, but it makes me think. If a card makes me pause and think, it will gain a place among my favorites. -- Kyrielle

Definitely COSMIC. I think I wanted the deck because of that HP in the first place. I also love Gill's, where she's a waterfall too... SO NICE! :D I love the Goddess too - Sarasvati is my fav Goddess!!! :D And the Spiral Deck too. Others later...

Hi all, I also have to vote for the Cosmic Tribe High Priestess. This is one of my all time favorite cards! When I look at this card and inhale, I can feel the energy coming right into my center!

The High Priestess is a card that I also generally like. But I seem to like it best in decks I'm otherwise not wild about. I'm not a big fan overall of the Robin Wood, but I like the RW High Priestess a lot. I also really liked the DeBurgh Celtic High Priestess. And I love her in the Legend Arthurian, but I love everything in the Legend Arthurian. I'm realizing I can't remember a lot of High Priestesses, though... time to go looking!
