Reading when you're half sozzled....

Uh-oh! You're all gonna throw pilows a me now but last night I actually gave a pretty good reading in a pub when I was pretty sozzled... What happened was that instead of deliberating over whether to go with my firt instincts on some cards, or whether to go with the more traditional meaning, I just did it, and it worked out great! I managed to convince my friend, a sceptic, that Tarot does work!

Please tell me I'm not on my own with the fact that sometimes alcohol can make the mind more open...? (And please stop throwing those pillows at me! I'm allergic to feathers!)

Was he drunk too? LOL :D

I avoid reading when drunk... but a few weeks ago I did a reading for a someone after I had had a few too many glasses of red wine... And the reading went fine!

Couple of my cards got a little sticky from being placed on a table that wasn't perfectly clean... that is enough to put me off reading when drinking again... :P I am always SO careful with them too... hmm...

Sometimes, (once in a while) reading when you are pissed will produce great readings. Your mind becomes very open.
The problem is some folks begin to rely upon it…
And the mind becomes very closed (with the illusion of being open).
The pillows I toss at thee are filled with foam.

I don't drink, but I have done readings before when I was extremely angry and they did seem slightly more accurate. Plus, I told the querent exactly what the cards said even though they were very blunt and probably a little hurtful. He ended up thanking me and told me it wasn't something he wanted to hear but he knew it was all true and even thanked me for being so blunt/pissed about it all. LOL. Good topic!!! And I don't throw my pillows anyway!!! :-)

Blessings, M.

an altered state of mind sometimes is just what is needed.

*snicker* Now I can't help but think of that scene in "The Tall Guy":

"What's going on down there?"
"I'm allergic to feathers!"
"Feathers? I haven't got any feathers!"

Hi,

I tend to cary my deck with me...even went dancing with them...so, had a few drinks (only a few..I'm a light weight). and started reading..WoW..was right on the money..and got a few free drinks for my effort.

I think it's just that you are a little more relaxed and have the polines to tell it like it is.

I learned the response "this is what THE Powers that be" for me GOD wanted you to hear". It gets you off the hook when "BLUNT" is required.

LOL..have fun everyone

blessings
