Arrrrggghhhh... did anyone see this show last night?? There was a girl on there who read Tarot and pulled out her cards to help break the ice with her blind date & to have some fun with him. The guy reacted like she was Satan incarnate, started talking about 'faith issues' and later said she had 'scared' him. The panel wasn't much better: they acted like she was a kook because she used Tarot. The guy, on the other hand, was hailed as 'nice' and 'decent'. errrrrrrr
One panel member said the girl relied too much on her cards to make life-decisions and there was some validity to this, but overall I think she was just trying to break the ice with Mr. Uptight.
Needless to say, I won't be watching this show again.

Sounds interesting, but I've never heard of this TV show. Is it one of those "reality" shows?

It's some kind of late-night dating show that my husband watches. For some weird reason I decided to watch it with him that night. I don't usually watch TV at all (much to my husband's chagrin) or at least very little, but my hubby enjoys this show so I thought it would be nice to sit with him and see what he is watching. And then *this* happened with the Tarot... even my husband (who does not read or collect) was astonished at the shabby treatment this woman received because of her use of the tarot. The only thing I saw that justified this was that when she pulled out her cards to show her blind date, she admitted that she once read in the cards that her boyfriend (a past boyfriend) was cheating on her, so she had cheated on him. I thought this was a bad use of the cards, but as the show went on, it was obvious that she was just trying to break the ice with this blind date she was on and was trying to have some fun. This guy actually *recoiled* from her like she was Satanic and the panel 'judging' this date really laid into her for being a 'kook'. It was sad to watch.

Oh my! I sometimes watch this show because it is funny. But reading all this saddens me! There's 2 hosts, man and woman, and they bring on 2 famous or semifamous people to help talk about how the date's going and what someone is doing right or wrong... (usually they like making fun though). I'm curious, do you remember who the famous guests were?

Faerie, I'm trying like heck to remember who these people were but I can't. I'm afraid my knowledge of celebrities stopped about about half a decade ago. Now I don't keep up with it that much.

Like you midnightmerry, I don't watch much TV, but Ken does, and I have actually watched that show with him a few times, so we could hang out.
It's too bad everyone had such a reaction to the tarot - but I wonder what the overall reaction of everyone would have been if the date had been more positive about her using the cards.
