CLAMP's X1999 & the major arcana (spoilers ahead!)

At first I thought that CLAMP's idea to structure their manga series X around the majors was a superficial connection - it was kinda neat seeing how each character embodied the different characteristics of each card. I didn't really think much of it. But then, I started seeing a connection b/w the majors and the theme of each issue. For example: X16 & the Tower> Here the structure b/w Subaru and the Sakurazukamori is dissolved, and hints at further subversion when Subaru disappears (to join the dragons of earth!) X17 & the Star> Yuzuriha's Inuki is reborn - a new hope in the midst of the all heaven dragon's woes Of course, maybe I'm just stretching it ^_~
