Whats your choice for deck of the year?

If you go to the front page of aeclectic the link is up to vote for your favorite deck this year, and you can enter anything you want, tarot or oracle, so what are you going to choose? Im not sure what to vote for, theres my beloeved Rohrig, and I really like my new MerryDay and Osho Zen, or i might get somethig else i want to vote for so I dont think Im going to vote quite yet heh :THP

i have no idea what i will vote for. i have to give this some careful thought. i am tempted to go with something untraditional - like the motherpeace. or something i know won't ever got on the top ten - like the kazanlar or maybe one of the decks i actually use in readings - spiral or thoth. or maybe the Gill. oy, decisions... i do like that we can write whatever we want though - even if it must mean a lot of extra work for poor solandia.

Honestly, I think I'm going to vote for the Haindl Tarot. I know I'm a newbie and I know that there are prettier, newer decks out there, but this deck is like one with me - it's like a good friend that's never let me down. C.

Thanks for pointing that out Liliana! I never go to the Aeclectic front page, always straight to the forum... ;) I'll vote for the World Spirit, it's my favourite reading deck right now.

For me the phantasmagoric theater tarot...a very underestimated tarot deck in my opinion and the best discovery i did this year:) Actually i think the spiral deserves a vote too:( I can't pick...but well the spiral is getting much more attention than the phantasmagoric so.......

Liliana; Thank you for letting us know about this. Like Tarotlady, I don't visit the front page. Me? I'm voting for the Röhrig Tarot. Of the 4 decks I own, it is the newest one I own, it is working out extremely well for me and the artwork just really speaks to me.

I wasn't sure whether we were supposed to vote for recent decks, or decks released or obtained this year. I gathered from the past results that wasn't expected. I voted for the Ancient Italian Tarot, myself; probably my favourite deck for the trumps. The Tarot of the Master would be my second choice.

Me too. The Victoria Regina is an awsome deck! It gives great readings too :) It is a tough choice, there are just so many. I'd love to vote for the Osho Zen too, and the Halloween Tarot! Cheers Kath

neferteri, of course! :) what other deck could i vote for but the golden one? the oracle deck would have the be the froud fairy deck. if i don't count them i'll never hear the end of it!

Hmmm. Decisions, Decisions. I guess this is the excuse I need to look through all the decks that are on the site. Otherwise I'll pick my Sharman-Caselli deck that comes with the Beginner's guide to Tarot by Juliet Sharman-Burke. The tones are soft, and the symbolism is similar to more traditional decks. in the end there is only one deck for me, and thats the thoth deck. followed very close by the marseille, and for a different take on matters the osho zen deck. so i voted thoth...... kaz

Hm... I think it'll have to be the World Spirit. It's a little boring though, cuz I voted for the WS last year too... ;) But it is a great deck, and despite a little love affair/fling with the Robin Wood, I am now back in my dear marriage with this deck. For now...! }) Jenny :)

I've discovered so many gorgeous decks since hitting this forum, I tell ya! I'm going to go with either Diamond Tarot or Thoth. Or Osho Zen. Maybe Voyager. Nope, Diamond. Or Thoth. Maybe... Fuzz

i took them all out and sat with them and then i thought - if i had a querent over this minute - which deck would i use? and since the answer would have been the same the last year and the year before that i picked the spiral. but it was tough. i felt like i was letting the other decks down (silly, i know)

This one's obviosu for me: ROBIN WOOD! It's gorgeous, readable, and can be usd for anybody... I'e had nothing but good comments from people I have read for with htis deck. They all say it' stunning, and even the most inexperienced person (Somebody who's never come across a deck in their life) can read this deck . I once handed it to a 16 year old guy who was quite drunk, sid, 'Read me', and he did, very well indeed... His interepreation of the World, 8 of Wands, and 2 of Cups was absolutely spot on. I just have to go with the World Spirit this year, too. The Cosmic Tribe was a close second, though! :D The World Spirit has just been so consistent for me, and the cards seem to relate to each other so well in a reading. When I do a reading with another deck, I sometimes end up throwing the same cards from the World Spirit, so I can REALLY get what the reading means! Hmmm...maybe I'm fixating a bit too much on this deck! :D Peace, Melvis :TSTRE
