Not sure if this is the right place to put this, so feel free to move it wherever.
My tarot display is finally up at work - History of Tarot is the theme. :)
It looks pretty good, although I didn't get to use as many of the decks you all suggested as I would have liked - kind of ran out of room in the display case. But thanks to everyone who gave me ideas of what decks to include. I had to stick with library materials (books and videos) that didn't look too worn, so it wasn't as inclusive as I would have liked to be, but it's not too bad.
So, if anyone is in the Bellevue, WA area, stop by the library and take a peek. I wouldn't make a special trip (it's a small display) but c'mon in. :D
It will be up from today until at least the middle of the month, possibly until November 1st.

VGimlet,
You are so lucky to have a library that allowed you to put up a Tarot display...I wish my local library would just update the book lsit....
Hope it works to get more people interested in Tarot.

Can't you take a picture of it VGimlet, so we can all see it? ;)
And how do people react to it? Does it get them more interested in tarot?

I know you said no "special trips", but my roomie and I can make it to Bellevue on the bus just fine even if its a little out of our way. I've pencilled that into our schedule for mid/late October.

:D Well, if you do make a special trip, don't be surprised at how small it is (even if it did turn out fairly well).
I'll have Ken take a picture with the digital camera, but he's having technical difficulties with his computer, which has all the photo programs (my poor elderly computer can't handle them). So, I'll try, but it might not be up until later in the month, if he can resolve his problems.
I told my co-workers they should have an idea for another display to put up while I'm gone, in case we get a *lot* of complaints, (I am going on vacation for a couple weeks) and they said, "No way are we taking it down."
I don't know if it will get anyone more interested in tarot - maybe it will. But it's also to let them know that the library has *all kinds of information*, not just what they expect.

VGimlet: Your topic is fine here. Your deck display is a wonderful idea! I wish I could visit your display personally.

Just FYI on the Tarot display - it's coming down sometime in the next few days, by Saturday for sure. :)
I want my cards back, and we're putting up an election display (yay - not - lol).
Got a few negative comments and one major take it to the top complaint, but for the most part people really liked it. A lot of people wanted to know if we had cards for check-out, or where they could get them.
I had some pictures taken of the display - I'll have to mess around with the new Photo program to get them posted.
Thanks again to everyone who gave me ideas for cards to include, and all the encouragement.
