New Deck!!

I got a new deck!! It's only my second ever deck, and my first deck is the Lord of the Rings deck, a deck that I didn't want to get but the only one I had money for... and now I finally have a deck that I chose carefully and deliberating and I LOVE!!! It's the Gendron Tarot Deck... tell me what you think of the deck! I just thought I'd share this exciting piece of news with everyone... you'll be seeing a lot of offerings for readings, haha. =D

Congratulations on your new deck. The Gendron is one of those decks which I seem to look at from time to time but then another one seems to come along. I think the images may be a bit busy for me. I`d be interested to see how you think it reads though. Love and light Crystalmynx xx

Congratulations on the new deck Mirja! I haven't had the opportunity to see this deck in person, but images I've seen on-line (here on A.T. and at Tarot Garden) are certainly eye-appealing. Looks like a great deck to me. Now... are you going to, or have you already done a "new-deck reading"?

the gendron is one of those decks i have mixed feelings about. i love the majors. the colors and designs are wonderful. there are things about the LWB i like and would like to see a full size book on this deck. she's a gifted artist. my problem comes with some of the images in the minor arcana. if the deck hadn't switched mediums from drawing to photography i'd probably enjoy the deck more. the photos and clipart don't always fit together very well. in one card a photo of a woman's head is put on a clip art dress. it just doens't seem to fit right. some of the filters give the pix an odd color. i traded the deck twice before i decided that i had something to learn from this deck. perhaps learning and accepting a deck that i have mixed feelings.

Congrats on your new deck! I have the Gendron and used it for quite a while before I decided that I should give attention to some of my other decks. I like the deck because it's something different. However, there is a discrepancy between the majors and the minors. I adore the minors and can get an instant feeling from them. A lot of times, the smallest detail in one of the minors con trigger my intuition. But most of the majors don't do anything for me. They just seem cold and distant, and in a reading with them, I have to plumb the depths of my mind to figure out the traditional meaning. It's a lot less intuitive with the majors. But, don't get me wrong, I do like this deck a lot! Perhaps I will pick it up again sometime (after playing with some of my others), and the majors will make more sense to me. Enjoy! :) Kes

Truthsayer ... sometimes it scares me how much we have in common! I have also traded the deck twice ... but I am yet to feel like it has something to teach me. I had simply forgotten why I traded it the first time *LOL*. The reason I did not really ever connect to this deck was based on the exact comments that Truthsayer made about the art. If I were ever to get and keep the deck, I would use it as a Majors only deck. The Majors are beautiful.
