Online Tarot readings

What is your personal feelings about online tarot readings done by the computer (or seemingly done by the computer)? I personally feel that they are 'fake' readings and aren't very accurate, I don't really like them. Tell me your opinion! Also, I'd love to be challenged on my opinion, show me why they aren't fake, if you disagree.

I've never had an online reading...I don't really think of them as real. It's just too impersonal for me, I guess. I tend to think of readings done on tarot computer programs as 'practice readings'. When I do a reading I want to hold the cards in my hand...I'd feel like I was cheating the person I was reading for if I didn't use real cards! I guess you can call me "Doubting Thomas": Show me the person behind the reading, and I'll accept the reading! :D I'll be interested to hear from people who accept online readings, too! i think they are great fun! i don't trrust them as readings though - just as entertainment - and i can get some new ideas on some interpretations. i esp love www.tarot.com since they got all them decks to choose from! oh and they got some really cool i-ching readigs too. but i would never take them seriously. if you want an on-line reading by a person i suggest you go to either the free reading netword or the wordl tarot readers. they are free. it might take a day to get the reading done but that is because it is done by a real person with a life outside the computerscreen.

In my opinion, the problem with online readings is that you don't get an interpretation of the reading. You just get the cards with a default meaning and that's it. There's no interpretation of the cards based on your question and based on the other cards in the spread. I think they can work for someone who knows how to read the cards, because they can read and interpret the cards themselves. But for someone who doesn't know how to read the cards I think they are pretty useless. Although I should add, that if it wasn't for online readings, I would never have started with tarot... ;) I started by using the online version of the Glastonbury Tarot. The readings were ok, in that I could make some sense of it. Enough anyway to get me interested in tarot and to get me to buy my own deck and start learning how to read with it... ;)

I sometimes use the free www.facade.com when I need a quick office reading (I have no space here for doing an undisturbed reading, besides I do not want to be forced to read for coworkers) but I prefer doing my own reading with proper cards and not the "intermediare" of a computer.

I try to avoid online reading programs -_- it seems terribly impersonal. Though one reading was rather strangely hinting on something accurate, i do not take them at all seriously. But online reading from someone through a computer, like the reading exchange in this forum, i should say poses no problem to some people ^_^ I got a very accurate reading from Lawguy51. But I believe i need more practice before I can make any accurate readings when the querent is not before me. To each their own ;)
