Rekindled deck relationship

I am an avid user of my Thoth deck... however for a while I put it away and used a completely different deck. At the time I though I needed something "better", more intuitive.

However the deck I thought would be a better choice for me personally turned out to be not so insightful after all. (Visconti). For months my Thoth was calling to me and after initially ignoring it I relented and started to browse through the deck. Suddenly the images seem to come alive and contained newer images I hadn't noticed before. I feel a closeness to this deck more than ever.

Have any of you had this experience before and what are the decks?

Perhaps absence makes the heart grow fonder? ;) .

I went through something similiar with the Robin Wood - When I first bought this deck I though I had made a mistake - The readings just didn't make sense, I had very negative vibes from the deck but carried on trying to use it. After a couple of weeks I went back to my favourite deck the Spiral and carried on.
About a month later I felt a pull to use the Robin Wood again so did a quick shuffle and pulled one card and asked what this deck could do for me - it was The Fool. I took this to mean that it was going to be the start of a new learning period for me with the Robin Wood and it has been.
The Spiral is still my primary deck but the Robin Wood is getting as close to me as the Spiral is and its a lovely deck to use, whatever the problem was at the beginning its gone now. :)

I had a similar experience with the Rider-Waite. After having it used for several years, I grew tired of it and turned to other decks but then some of you brought me back to it, to delve deeper into its symbols. Something similar happened to me with the Tarot of Marseilles.

Well Catlin,

I dare say you have a couple of newer distractions now LOL :)

Yep, you're right! Guess you will also have plenty of work when the next deck will arrive LOL
