So much to read!

'Lo all,

Been gone all summer, off on an adventure, and return to find Aeclectic is still Aeclectic. Cheer!

So much to read. I'll be weeks catching up. So many new people with new ideas. But I especially like finding "old" people are still here.

Listen folks. We talk about what our favorite Tarot books are -- "Tarot for Yourself," "Seventy-eight Degrees of Wisdom" (two of mine) -- but right at the top has to be Solandia's Aeclectic Tarot. The best Tarot minds in the universe are gathered right here. And you find such surprising things in such unlikely posts and places. Like panning for gold in a worked out stream, and there in the swirling muddy water in the bottom of the pan is a nugget of pure gold.

I've been here for a long time. I remember when Aeclectic crashed, it was wiped out, and the loss left a hole in the universe, a cold place in the void, and then Solandia brought it back. I thought I was the windiest poster of all time, and was stunned to discover I had only something over 200 posts.

And I was ridiculously pleased to discover the faunabay spread is still alive and well.

So, you're thinking, Talisman is still as windy as ever. What else is new? Lots and lots. Gotta go read, but, first, I wanted to say thank you. Imagine you're holding in your hands a newly discovered manuscript by your all time favorite author. Lots to read. Hooray!

Hi Talisman,

Isn't it nice to be home again? We missed your "windy" ways.
You have always given good insights as well as food for thought.

I remember "The Crash." Solandia is a truly great person for coming through and giving us all a platform for learning, teaching and debating.

Welcome home.

Blessings....................Moose

Namaste and hi there Talisman!

So pleased to meet you, I've fallen in love with this site in your absence (and, incidentally, I often use your once-posted Tempest in a Teacup spread, it's a fave of mine so THANK YOU).

Your ears must've been burning since others were posting about missing you. Can't wait to become better acquainted and read your windy posts.

Laurel  16 Oct 2002
Hello Talisman! Its so wonderful to get the opportunity to meet you! You were very missed by the old-timers here and its a happy day to have back so us new-timers can meet you as well.

wavebreaker  16 Oct 2002
I'm another newbie who is beginning to get very curious about this famous Talisman... :D

Welcome back!

Kyrielle  16 Oct 2002
Every so often on a post someone would sigh about missing Talisman, so I'm eagerly anticipating experiencing that whatever-it-is Talisman must have to keep him constantly on the minds of everyone.

So welcome back, Talisman, even though I don't know you.

I feel like a witness to the Second Coming, on a slightly smaller scale...

Zhritza  16 Oct 2002
I feel a fresh windy breeze, and it is Talisman ;) :* good to see you.

Talisman  17 Oct 2002
'Lo all,

Oh, gosh. I don't know what to say.

If I had any sense, I'd just stay away.

("There are no second acts in American life." F Scott Fitzgerald)

But, I want'cha to know, Aeclectic really IS my favorite Tarot book.

Next time I go (soon, I'm afraid -- never gathered no moss, or double negatives) I won't mention it, and you'll never know I've gone. I typed 'til my fingers fell off, and I'm still fewer than 300 posts. Ya' all remember Tarot Bear? One Bazillion posts! I never got within 500 words of the neat one-liner.

I want you all to know that I sincerely love you all. Now. I'm looking around for something insulting, and typically Talisman, to say.

Nothing comes to mind. How 'bout a non-sequitar? Haven't read, or even thought about, P. G. Wodehouse for years. Of course, I'm paraphrasing:

"If all the girls Binky has loved and lost were stretched end to end, they'd reach all the way to Picadelly."

"Even further, I think. Some of those girls were pretty tall."

New River  18 Oct 2002
Good to see you back ((((((Talisman))))))

i'm just back myself and i have to admit it feels really good. like coming home after a long sea voyage. >what makes you think i'm a water person!<

i've always wanted to go to alaska! so i agree with major tom,
please, tell us a story, puleeeezzzzz?!

:* :* :*

love and blessings,
New River

Talisman  18 Oct 2002
'Lo All,

Well, New River,

If you're like me, you're stunned by the changes.

Let me tell you a storry.

What's that! Everyone is heading for the door! They're diving out the windows?

Oh well, nothing has changed, everything has changed.

I remember you. If I remember right, you ask intelligent questions and provide intelligent commentary. I'm the one who argues with everyone.

Just pretend you don't know me,

Talisman

Talisman  18 Oct 2002
Okay, New River,

You got my marker. You can call in the chit anytime you want to. Just present it. I ain't a four-flusher.* (*Someone who holds four cards in a suite and bluffs that they have five cards in the suite -- which ain't a bad hand. Also, someone who always comes up one short, you know?)

In other words, while my policy is to offend everyone, I truly did not mean to offend you, a friend from way back, and I owe you one. Really, truely,

Talisman
