Congratulations on your purchase! I'm buying alot of stuff on E-Bay too. Here is my advice before you place the bid on E-Bay, check price of the same item on the Amazon. I had found out that prices on E-Bay alot of times much higher than any other places.

You have to be very wary of eBay. At times you might get something really at a bargain, but usually the sellers keep their eyes open for trends and if something is in demand, they'll expect top dollar and then some for their goods. It's not like it used to be, where you could get big bargains. They still exist, but you have to really dig for them, usually.

You guys are right -- I could have sworn I hadn't been able to find it anywhere, but there it is on Amazon. The problem with Amazon, though, is that I have no credit cards and no checking account or credit card. Nonetheless, yeah, I guess I have learned my lesson. At least the price difference isn't too large :(

You don't have to have a credit card to shop Amazon. You can send a check or money order, too, I think. Does anyone else know? It just takes longer.

you can start an amazon charge account. that's available if you don't have any other way to buy there.

I didn't see your original post but can guess from the responses. Okay, confession time. I very recently won a Sacred Rose tarot on eBay without checking and could have bought one new through Amazon for less. :(

I am an Ebay addict. I haven't won any tarot cards there, however. Tarot tends to be so popular there that sellers sell high and buyers are numerous and attentive. I have much, much better luck buying books and art work. With both tarot cards and books, its a good idea to do some comparison shopping. Its seems like folks here at Aeclectic get their best tarot deals going into Borders and Barnes & Nobles and Half Price Books and picking them up from the 50% or even higher racks.

oh absolutely, I work at a Borders and I check B&N periodically too. There are some fun in-print decks to be acquired as bargain items, and occasionally when a deck goes out of print, if we have one or two in stock at work they become bargain too (meaning one-third or so of their original price). The PoMo, though, has been OOP for a couple of years, I think, and despite the fact that I scour used bookstores with great regularity looking specifically for tarot decks, I have never seen it with my own eyes. I mistakenly thought I had already checked Amazon and not found it, and when the eBay election started, I only had to bid $7... and then it escalated to a rather silly price.
Generally speaking, aside from trading on Aeclectic, used bookstores are by far my best friend for tarot acquisitions. Marion, I really want to thank you for disclosing that; I feel a little less lonely and foolish now... :| thanks everyone
