Hi peeps,
My family situation dictates that I work from home, so no cafes or new age book stores for me sadly, and altruism doesn't put food on the table either. So I'm wondering how well any of you have faired running an email reading site.
I often see pages and pages of readings offered on ebay, and no takers, so ppl ..... is it worthwhile, can it be lucrative, or 'don't give up your day job'?.
I look forward to hearing your experiences
Thank you

Well if the advertising and maintenance of this venture doesn't eat up your whole day, what can it hurt?
I have not tried this, but I do have some suggestions anyway.
Advertize EVERYWHERE, that they allow you. Obviously Solondia would get a bit upset if you were posting ads all over the place here. But you noticed the E-bay. I'd so go for that in addition to your sight, you know? Make your website and get it in every search engine with a really catchy meta-tag that will make you look inviting and inexpensive. ($$$ is really key to internet shoppers, at least in my experience) Make the payment system as hassle free for your customers as you can. Give them options. Leave fliers in any local shops that will allow you, advertising your sight. I'll bet you can find lists and things on metaphysical search engins to add yourself to.
Give a full service. Offer well formatted transcripts of the reading. Offer a choice in decks with examples for them to see. Be timely and thorough. Be sure to have a system set up before you start. What spread will you use, or selection of spreads for them to choose from. How much time will you devote to each reading. Are there different levels of reading they can purchase (sizes). How will you budget your time to get these done. How will you get their question, can they ask more than one, what if the original question is too vague for you or you come out with a reading that doesn't seem to match? Do you ask for another question, do you give them the weird reading, do you do a second one...
Are there laws in your area regarding fortune telling, can you legally accept money for it. Do you have to charge sales tax. Is there some sort of entertainment tax. If so, what if they're out of state. How will you claim the money on your taxes? You may want to skip all the legal stuff, but do so at your own peril. It only takes one disgruntled customer, remember that.
Have your bases covered before you start when it involves money. I'm not trying to discourage you, to the contrary. I wish you the best of luck. :)

Ok Jade, this is the template I'm working on which can be found at:
http://www.5sec.com/
click top nav for > freezone>flash templates>i agree>design collection 9 - 16> design FP 014..... the red and floral one.
It just says everthing about me I want it to say like: modern yet traditional, thoughtful yet concise, understated class not madame arcarti, plus it only takes 5 secs to load.... I love it!
Hope you can find it.
