I am still figuring out which forum to use for what, but I think this is the right place for this question.
I became interested in tarot about 8 years ago, and spent some time learning card meanings back then. About a year later my life took a drastic turn and the cards and I kind of broke up. Just recently I seriously picked them up again and it felt right again. So now, I would like to get even more feeling with the cards and learn more about their meanings. Could anyone give me some suggestions on how to proceed?
Perhaps this already has been asked before, if so I am sorry for repeating the question! I haven't been able to browse through all the older threads yet hehe.

Well, as you suspect this is a Frequently Asked Question, so you might want to look around for even more inspiration. However, I think the reason it IS such a FAQ is that it IS a main issue for most of us.
And - it's a fun discussion even though it's been up before...!
My take is to get a journal of some sort, and use that to take notes of your every experience with the cards. How you choose to do that is up to you, you can draw daily cards (which many tarot-holists do - I used to, but kind of fell off the habit a week or so ago, will take it up again, it's most effective) and write down your thoughts about each of the cards, compare it to what themes actually came up during your day and perhaps to the suggestions of some book you like to use.
Or you can just take a page or two for each card and write down everything you think of, card by card. As you move on and do more readings you will be able to add what you find in the future.
You might also want to consider documenting ALL readings you do. It's fun AND interesting to go back and review your old readings.
Another thing is to take feedback EVERY time you have done a reading for someone.
As for HOW to spend time with the cards, I think you should do just that. Spend time with the cards. Do what comes to mind. Do readings. Use the Your Readings-section here at the AT if you run out of questions to read for yourself - there you can help out fellow Aeclecticans with readings they have got stuck in - and that is really helpful! You can also use the Exchange Section for practise readings.
Most important of all - have fun! That is the key, to me at least...!
Good luck!
Light and love,
Jenny :)

Hehe yeah I figured it was a FAQ - but I figured I'd post it anyway...
I would never dare to try and help out others when they get stuck with their readings.. hihihi I would be way to afraid of making the wrong interpretations:) But some day, somewhere in the future, perhaps I will feel comfortable enough to do do help others!
I indeed plan on making a diary - I have been following the thread about tarot journals and found it mighty interesting.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Ooops... Seeing MystiqueMoonlight's reply I realise I may very well have misunderstood your question altogether... Well if I did, here's another link you might find useful:

Just a comment: We're all students here, that's what is so great about this place - we're ALL here to learn. Whether we've just got our first deck or been at it daily for 25 years. So you really don't have to be shy.
And if you are... Lay out the cards for yourself, if you feel good about what you find post it, if not... just take it as practise. Read the discussion in the thread, and reflect on how that correlates to what you found. And don't be afraid to post. We are all students here...
