i just started really trying to learn to use tarot cards less than a month ago. again and again i am amazed at how accurately they describe what is going on.
you know that feeling sometimes when it hits so close to home it brings tears to your eyes?
it's hard to believe it's real.
anyway, my cards remain positive about the future so i'm smiling :-)
i want to thank everyone here for creating such a supportive, caring and helpful environment.

Welcome to the Forum, Cuddles, on behalf of the rest of us seekers.
The Tarot is indeed a beautiful tradition at its worst. At its best, it's downright powerful.

Your title alone was enough for me to flashback with a BIG smile and recall those same awsome(new) feelings.....then I read your post.
'again and again i am amazed'
that will never go away, but you get used to it.
'it brings tears to your eyes?'
on several occasions.
'it's hard to believe it's real.'
as I say, you get used to it. ;)
there is a wealth of info here...we are all greatful for AT....glad you joined in!

Cuddles, I'm glad you're enjoying studying and using Tarot! I picked up a book when I was 9, a deck when I was 12... And never put them down... It really is such a wonderful thing: For me it's a hobby, lifetime's study, job, and inspiration. And of course, you don't need tp fork out hundreds of pounds for a counsellor or psychic if you can read your own cards!
Keep it up, and enjoy!

I only began to seriously work with the tarot a couple of months ago. I too am amazed at the profound insights I have from my readings. I am drawing a daily card to reflect on. Those cards really speak to me. I drew the same card two days in a row, which emphasized its importance. Then on the second day I drew another card to clarify Five of Cups reversed and drew Eight of Cups. Five of Cups, reversed, to me moving away from loss, regret, letting go of of the past, and Eight of Cups had clear message I was moving on and finding deeper meaning in life.
What I love about the tarot, is that it feels like maintaining communication channels with "higher wisdom" - I love how the can bring such crystal clear insight! :)
btw, I have been lurking for awhile, love this forum! I have three tarot decks, Voyager, Old English, and URW. Most recently I have been working primarily with the classic URW so I can learn its particular symbolism.

this is a wonderful forum, I have already learned a lot about Tarot from other users here. I have only recently started to use my Tarot deck on a regular basis. I appreciate all of the insights and suggestions. Great place!

Cuddles, I am so glad you are feeling that connection. The connection with the higher spirit is such a wonderful feeling, indescribable, only felt. Sometimes moments in life do that. I have a moment I cherish always that sometimes sounds silly to some, but I keep it nonetheless. I was out jogging one summer day, down a path that snaked through the woods. The sun was high and shining down through the leaves, making the whole path glow green with sparkling rays of the sun shining through. I had a walkman and was playing Vivaldi's Four Seasons and in the third movement of the Summer section. There is a part where the violins and violas play these cascading runs, and at that moment, a flock of blackbirds took flight in the trees, darting down the path, shooting sparks of sunlight as they zipped in and out of the trees, in perfect harmony with the music, and at that moment I felt as Vivaldi may have felt as he composed that piece. I understood the connection with everything. And it was beautiful. A moment of tears.
Hold and cherish those moments always.
Oceanpoetry: It is wonderful to have you hear and I look forward to hearing much from you.
Peace!

I had a similar thing happen to me with Ralph Vaughan Williams' The Lark Ascending. One of the pieces we hear a thousand times and say "Isn't that pretty," but on this day it was summer and the birds were flying around my garden and the poignancy of the music was just right and I had to touch the window to connect with the nature in my view. I also remember a wintery day with the wind blowing the snowflakes in a zig zag formation and on the radio was a tango, and the snow was blowing in perfect rythym to the music. Magical.

It must be a very positive time! :D
I just did a Celtic Cross with my Cat People tonight, asking it what might be in store for the coming New Year, and it was also a fairly positive reading. I was glad!
