Hello All,
On Sunday afternoon I did two readings for a friend of mine, on regarding her relationship and another general one for her.
Would like to hear from other more experienced readers about how they gauge from the querent what they thought about the reading.
I felt the reading went okay but nothing special, I really don't know if it was much help to her. She identified with some of the cards and my descriptions, she gave me some information that helped me relate the spread to her and her situations but after she left I felt uneasy and unsure of myself.
She said thank you and I could see from some of her body lanuage that she was happy........
Any thoughts/ideas/comments?

Depends on who the reading is for. If it's a free reading for friends or acquaintances, we usually discuss it afterwards... if they don't initiate the conversation, I will.
However, for a paying client, I really don't worry myself with what they think. If they pay me, I consider it a successful reading. On those rare occasions where I'm not happy with a reading, I won't take their money and I offer them a re-read at another time.

Just relax and take it easy: nothing ever gets better by worrying about it. Readings can sometimes end up spectacular and other times... dull, it all depends on how you 'connect' with a querent and if you on the whole are up to it all: you can't always expect on getting wonderful experiences from it. People tend to be satisfied with any kinds of readings, due to the ego-boost a it provides: the 'all-eyes-on-me'-syndrome as I prefer to call it. And your friend was obviously content with hers, so be happy about it and stop poking your mind with insecure thoughts. :o)
Otherwise, talking from my own practice, I have to agree with Mojo's reply: I think we all pretty much work on the same basis.

Kitty, I wouldn't worry overmuch about it. It's understandable that you might feel insecure about reading for others. I think that's something that happens to us all. But the thing to really focus on is your querent. You said that she seemed happy, and that she seems to have gotten good information from the reading. That's the most important part! Sounds like a great reading to me.

I have been reading for a while now and I still get anxious about how my readings are received, even when I know I'm 'on the money', it is only natural. We give of ourselves our knowledge and skill and experience and lay it out bare in front of others. Our ego is on the line.
Whilst it is also important for you to have good feedback - maybe ask at the outset if they would give you a no holds barred response to the reading so that you may learn from them - it is just as an important part of your learning curve to give yourself honest feedback.
Was it good for you too?
Be satisfied in the knowledge that you gave your best and have maybe learned a thing or two because 'mighty oaks from little acorns grow'.

Thank you to you all - feel better knowing other readers can feel anxious too - like allibee put it - my ego was on the line - probably more worried about how 'knowledgeable" I was - ah you are all right - they come to see me - not test me!!
