What are these cards for. Are they to Help you understand what the Reading is trying to tell you. If not what are they for.

Hi Wicca812... Oh boy! I get to be the first one to express an opinion! :D
Reinforcing/opposing cards? I usually take these cards to indicate influences (or people) which relate to the issue which the reading is "about". So, lets say you're doing a reading for a person who wants some insight on making some major life decision, such as "should I take this new job". The card in the "reinforcing" position would be things that are in favor of this move. The "opposing" card would be influences or feelings which might block the move or speak against making the move.
Does that help?

Cards that are reversed may express opposition in regards to the question. Major Arcana cards tend to be quite influential, good or bad. How depends on where the card is in a spread.
