We did Christmas on Christmas Day for once this year.
I got the Visconti Gold deck and book set. It's very nice, and I look forward to studying up on it.
But what was more interesting and coincidental was a minor Tarot related note that popped up elsewhere. I also got a book called The Victorian Celebration of Death. I open this up, and one of the first illustrations I see is a picture of the neo-Classical tomb, built in a faux-antiquity ruin style, of our old friend Court de Gébelin, the fellow who started the whole ball rolling of esoteric interpretation of the Tarot. He died, apparently, while being treated by Anton Mesmer, which was also interesting.

I wonder if it's true about de Gébelin dying at the hands of Mesmer.
Seems like the author of your book has quite an interest in death, ihcoyc. I see he has also written "Death and Architecture." Seems to be a very learned gentleman, and one of those who seems to have more than 24 hours a day to get stuff done.
