how?

i'm just wondering how others read the tarot? I feel that spreads are way to stiff and un-flexable in my readings. I find the most true readings i have done are with a personally made up spread, with personally made up meanings to cards!!! LOL
I use my intuition in using the cards and tend to think "if i was in the card, what would i feel, whats the weather like(down side of living in England) and how happy am i?" this normally gives me similar meanings to all the meanings i have read in any book.
The "spread" i use is a row of 4 then of 3 etc down to 1. This spread is very versatile, you can take seperate issues aside, and see the relationship to other cards of other issues. But you have to use you intuition to sense what is the other issues involved.

in future spreads, the row of 4 is the present situation and the row of one is the future and what your going towards.
in personal readings and general i use the row of one as what the person is aiming towards in his life.

and i would also like to know, what people make of similarity in cards, such as loads of major acarna or minor. Or strange runs of like 2,3, and 4 of wands appearing. tnx

I learned how to read cards by intuition alone with the help of a tarot teacher helping me to listen to my intuition and help me learn how to develope it as well as putting my doubts aside.

Now, I am going back to the basics (after 10yrs). I'm studying the more traditional meanings as well as the symbolisms preseneted and themed through out most RW decks. So in essence, I'm being a hermit right now with my tarot.

Major Arcana cards IMO represent a major change/effect in your life. If a lot of major arcana cards come up in a reading (more then 2) then I usually see that as the person is going through a lot of changes right now that will make an impact on their life. For example, perhaps their pregnant (empress or even the tower), getting married (the lovers), and moving to a new place or even a new living situation (moving in together, or changing addresses in the same town) (death or tower). Marriage and children will effect you for the rest of your life! Moving could very easily effect the rest of your life too such as buying a house, or moving to another state. In any case, that is an example.

As far as strange runs like 1,2,3 of pentacles all come up in a row then I would say the deck wasn't shuffled good enough. However, if it's 1,2,3 of pentacles but they are all spread through out the spread, then I would read it as that they have a lot of material work to do right now.
