do you feel it is important to learn how you died in a past life reading...
or more important to see how it affects your current life .
for experimenting with past life spreads the one i just used has no death from the past life postion in it .
now i know that death in a past life can explain a great many thing such as phobia about waters, spiders, disease.
yet suppose that you already cleared it somehow and it has no bearing on the current reading ?

Hello! And a difficult question to wake me up ! The area of past lives has been on my mind recently . I don't think that the actual death event is so important , but how the person felt as , or if , they realised that they were entering their last moments . Here I'm talking about acknowledging unresolved issues / dissapointments/ or possibly joys and thanks (I'm such a pessimist ! Whose to say that the death bed scene has always got to be negative?)
I have never had a past life reading with the Tarot , so I don't know what is and is not possible. Can you pick up on any of the issues that I mentioned above ?
When I tried past life regression (hypnosis) I did get a death bed scenario, which was upsetting (for the past me , as well as the present me ). It did teach me something about myself though . And I haven't forgotten it.

It depends, I would suppose, on what reasons you want a past life reading for.
If it was just out of morbid curiosity, then I would think the sitter might place quite some importance on how they 'died'.
If the sitter wants to 'learn' from their past life not their past death, then it is not so important, I would say.
Best wishes

Well, Holmes, what an interesting quetsion!
This is my thought: I don't really care how I died in a past life. I think the point of past life readings is to try to help me understand hurtful habits or patterns in this life.
BUT - if my death in a past life can be used to explain why I am afraid of something (water, heights, spiders, etc), then it could be used to help heal me. If I died because of my behaviour or actions and I still need to learn from this, then it is helpful.
But I wouldn't care just for the sake of knowing.

I've died in past lives because of my behavior... and some of them I do not regret. The best thing is to use your past lives as guides, so you don't make mistakes twice. Basically what I'm saying is no matter how you died, how you lived is probably more important.

I'd like to know! If there is such a thing as knowing. For some reason I am pretty sure I was shot to death in Auschwitz.
Tell me, am I right? Seriously, I want to know, because I want to explain why I react to gun shots and explosions the same way someone would who is "shell shocked".

HOLMES: What has been resolved or integrated will not be a problem in the current life. The soul knows to move on to other areas that may need work. May even choose a life to be of service to others. The risk taken is that with every incarnation in this plane, there is always the possibility of creating more lessons or karma.
Samantha: 'Tis indeed possible to glean past life information from a throw, even one not specifically designed for past life information. It all depends on the moment of the reading. As with any kind of knowledge, 'tis helpful to understand the purpose of gaining such knowledge.
FireMaiden: Death during wartime could lead to the same reaction. Trauma under *any* circumstances tend to carry emotional & psychological effects.
I tend to see remembrance of past lives & past experiences altogether as being a two-edged sword. For some, such knowledge would not be helpful & could even be detrimental. Preoccupation with the past leaves one little energy & time for living in the now (not that I am saying this is what ye or anyone else is engaged in); however, what is more important are in the lessons carried within. Again, what has already been resolved will not be an issue, save that of perhaps setting an example for others, teaching others. There is no statute of limitations on addressing whatever lessons there may be save that of Grace. The soul chooses that on which it will focus in any particular lifetime, & is permitted to change the direction, if it so desires.
Years ago, I knew someone who was not interested in the metaphysical; did not believe in reincarnation, so on. During her first trip this way, she experienced a flash of a past life. The most direct route involves taking the Chesapeake Bay Bridge & Tunnel. The bridge portion is above the bay; the tunnel part is under water. Simultaneously, she realized an extreme aversion to being on the bridge along with the certainty that she had died in a fall off a bridge in a previous life. Subsequently, she took a longer route to avoid the bridge.

thoughts on the reader's side:
as a reader in a past life reading, i get whatever information i get...sometimes it includes the actual details of HOW the person died, sometimes just that they were surrounded by loved ones. and this is with a card position of "your death" kind of thing.
but i get my info more through a psychic situation than just taking the card for what it traditionally means
if i don't get info on the DEATH i feel it is because it was the LIFE of that person that holds the keys for them in THIS life.
as a querent:
sure, i always want to know how i died. i have a number of phobias that could be explained by past life deaths (claustrophobia, fear of drowning, fear of a slit throat) and looking into these issues may help me with fears i have now.
but if the person doing the reading didn't receive that information, i would be ok with that. i'd probably just keep exploring till i knew, though, cause i find it fascinating! ;)

Holmes, I've accessed a couple of my past lives, mostly to see if I can find the reason for current and long-lasting health problems in this one.
One of them addressed the issue, but without enough information to give me much help now.
The second one did, I think, but it was too full of symbolism for me to readily understand it. I guess I'm too-left brained for some of life's more subtle messages.
As for the reason I died in them, it doesn't matter to me now. I see the deaths as a necessary closing of doors so I can get on with whatever's coming next.
Goddess Bless

AFter reading Napea's post, it reminds me that I've often wondered if I'm so major, major, major terrified of heights because of a death in a previous life.
I'm so terrified of heights that when I'm watching television and see even a bad guy, in major danger on the side of a building, on a cliff, etc., my heart starts racing and my hands and feet begin to sweat. My husband laughs, and I laugh along with him knowing how silly it is.
I take it back. I would like to know if a past life death contributes to this fear, and what it was.

I suppose it is probably very individual as to whether someone wants to know or not. Some people seem to have their own reason for wanting to know others don't see the point. Maybe it is an option that could be given to the quarent before the reading, unless you yourself are apposed to reading that information.
I am not sure if I would want to know or not. Although it seems like any aspect of a past life may be useful to know even how you died. There have been many cultures throughout history who have considered how you die to be at least as important as how you live.
