Right/Wrong?

How often do you find your cards to be very obviously right? Once again my cards have surprised me. My uncles health has been in question for the last few months. I did a spread for him and in the future position i got the 3 of swords. Yesterday i picked out two daily cards i got the knight of wands and the tower. late on that evening i recieved the shocking news from my younger brother that my uncle has a brain tumour and has only a few months to live.
When the tower card came out i thought there was a chance of something unexpected happening but i also thought that i shouldn't think too much of it either.
I think i will have more faith in my cards in future!

The cards are never right. Neither are they ever wrong.

What you need to have faith in is your own intuition when reading the cards.

yeah, I agree, it's pretty much the case.

I, on the contrary, have been found to be right on occasion, and many times wrong.

The cards tell you EXACTLY what you need to hear. They're never right, they're never wrong. Ignore what the cards say, and the worst possible outcome has always happened to me.

There is quite a difference between the cards being right, and 'very obviously right'. Sometimes you have to wait quietly for your intuition to speak and sometimes the cards might as well spell it out in neon.

The cards will speak to you, if you want them to, if you open yourself to them. Sometimes I find myself in the middle of a seemingly irrelevant reading, only to find later on what the cards meant. I have faith in the cards - it's myself that I sometimes don't have faith in. ;)

Fifteen years ago my father had a business partner he decided to ask about reading i-ching. The msg he got was something like "the best perfume come in small vials". The partner was a short guy, so my dad thought the i-ching had said the guy was great partner. It turned out, however, that man ripped the business funds and disappeared with the money.

The i-ching was not right. It was not wrong.

Same can happen with the cards. They ain't right, or wrong, they just display figures in front of your eyes.

Dreams do that to.

Maybe "right" or "wrong" aren't exactly accurate to describe tarot readings. I have found some pretty amazing synchronicities, though, between the cards I draw and what is going on around me. I am keeping a journal because I would like to keep track of the cards and my interpretations over time.

If you do daily readings, order your cards and pick one at a time, but don't shuffle. Just pick one and hang onto it until you've associated that card with one aspect of your life at the moment, or with some aspect of your self.

I've done it and I can tell you that: every single card in the Tarot speaks some about me ... here and now.

When we are anxious, or busy trying to find a solution to a problem, our receptivity to "advice" is greatly enhanced... we're looking for answers. Someone who's downrigth defensive and disohnest with self will consistently arrive at the wrong "answer", whereas someone who's open to ideas, criticisms and re-evaluation will consistently arrive at the "right" answer.

It's easier to give "right" interpretations" to people we don't know well, because then our ego defense mechanisms are not put forth to work... If someone sits in front of you and takes 5 minutes to blame her boyfriend for all her life miseries, no combination of cards will deceive you. If you blame your boyfriend for same, what combination of cards would not deceive you?

Just ideas. It's not about believing or not that the cards "work" or "do not work". There are several elements into play and it does not matter "how" it works: as you don't have to know for sure how an aspirin works in your body to get relief from your pain.

Alex.
