I'm sorry, tarotbabe, but I'm not quite sure what you're asking for here. Could you clarify a little?

What tarot readings would you like to know about in particular? There is a specific forum called `your readings` where people can post their readings and get advice about them. You may want to try looking there. If we posted all of the readings we`d ever done in response to your question there may be a few too many readings to wade through.

Isn't there a minimum age for these forums? If not, there should be.

what age would that be Mojo? Mojo, given what I have written, how old do you think I am? Without looking at my profile??
There are other members of this forum that are teenagers. And I thought that the forum was open to everyone, as long as they have interest in learning about tarot, runes, pendulums, or anything of the like, and who are old enough to legibly type. TB13 did not read the stickies, and (sorry to say) neither did I when I first came here. I have now, and I see that there were some questions that I didn't need to ask.
Thanks for hearing me!!!
p.s.: oh, btw, I'm 14 (and 4 months, 4 days and 23 hours and 30 minutes) years old (I just asked my Mom what time I was born). Many people have thought that I was at least 20. Am I too young to be here?

You're not too young to be here, violinlily, or I am as well. I post rarily, prefering to read more than post (Besides, someone usually says what I want to say anyway) but just becuase someone is a certain age does not mean you should make any biased opinions. A teenager may have just as much experience or as much to share as someone three times their age. TB13, suggestion: Make your question a little more specific and less ambiguous.
BTW: I'm 17

I think Mojo's response was because the poster seemed too.....'fluffy'? 'Young' is a relative word. The questions seem to be a tad light for the board (coupled with the shorthand spelling & such, everyone spells with regular English, shorthand sort of disappeared off most boards).
It's ok to ask questions, but if the majority of the board is more serious or focusing on deeper subjects, yes asking what our readings are like, out of the blue, to share does seem to come out on a little different level.
Tarot Babe, go ahead & ask questions, but I'm not sure many will tell you about their readings--those are usually personal between the reader & their querant. Revealing personal information isn't often done unless the other person says it's ok to share.
There's a bunch of topics already started about favorite cards & decks (loads MORE in the archives, I think just about every deck has 3 different discussions going on it). Perhaps posting about your decks & such will get a discussion going? We're not oldies, really, it's just that most discussions here are a tad more serious or cover questions about interpreting a reading that they can't get a handle on.
(Whoa! Violinlady you're 14? That's a huge surprise! You're not coming across as that age! I'm certainly not kicking you out!)
Teens are fully welcome here! I think it was the tone of posting that came across as too giggly light (sorry Tarot Babe).

yup, 14. Thanks, for saying I'm not too young!!
Oh, TB13, btw, there is a thread about a reading by Umbrae. It's ficticious, but I think is the sorta idea that you want to read about.
thanks,

I remember when *I* was a teenager and my parents and their generation just didn't take people my age seriously, and I swore I would NEVER be like that.
So there's at least one old guy out here who understands that your mind is just as complicated and deep and wonderful as anyone else's, whether they're 13 or 26 or 52... that when your heart gets broken, it hurts just as bad, when you hear good music it's just as thrilling, when you don't get what you want it's just as disappointing, and the stuff that happens to YOU at school is just as important and real as the stuff that happens to US at the office.
And all you were doing was trying to connect with people who are interested in the same thing you are, namely tarot, right? So what if you didn't say it in as sophisticated a fashion as some people on this board?
Well, since I bothered to look past the surface (namely age), I found out something about you that I would consider a cool connection: You were born on exactly the same date as my own son. I just gave him his first deck for Christmas, the Tarot of a Moon Garden.
I have over 40 decks myself, my newest was a gift from a friend a few days ago, the "mini tarot." It's pretty cute.
My favorite, though, if I have to choose one, is the "Art Nouveau" by Antonella Castelli and published by Lo Scarabeo. I read in a review of this deck somewhere that she was copying the style of this guy from the turn of the last century called Alphonse Mucha, and so I looked HIM up on the web. One of the best sites with some of his illustrations is: http://www.artrenewal.org/asp/database/art.asp?aid=598&page=2 . He's become one of my favorite artists.
What's YOUR favorite deck?

I think I had the same reaction as Hud on your age. You carry yourself on a greater maturity level. And to me, that's it, the maturity level. I see this forum as being one on a very high sophistication level, which is wonderful and challenging! Even how people are responding to TB13 shows that. Most everyone seems to be encouraging her to contribute, which also shows the level of tolerance on these boards.
And there's an irony I see in that. Christians are quick to condemn tarot reading as Satanic and be intolerant of even hearing what it is about. They who profess to follow the teachings of Christ, who was about loving one's neighbors and tearing down the exclusive right of God that his people had fallen into, and yet we end up being a thousand times more tolerant than many fundamental Christians, willing to hear and encouraging the speaking of opinions. I know in my brief time here I have had a few run-ins, and differences of opinion, but any of them have been worked out, both sides realized mistakes and problems solved. If some religions were as tolerant, understanding and encouraging as this band of tarot students we have here, now THAT would be a religion I would follow!!!
Peace!

Ya know, w/ all that up there (or on the last page) I forgot to answer the question. **smiles meakly** My favorite deck out of the 3 I have has to be my dragon deck, the pics are really cool (I can't say anything about the book, as lazy me still has to order it..... **slaps hand, "bad violinlily, bad!!**). and my second fave(orite) is my shapie. book is good, deck is beautiful. And as I'm a beginner too, I haven't really done any readings. I'll get back to you on this!! lol

Just one problem with what you said. Be careful about generalizing too much. Many of us on here are in fact Christians. You later add nuance to your statement by specifically referencing fundamentalist Christians, but it's important to be specific when making statements like that. Just being nitpicky today. *hugs* I hope my anal-retentiveness does not offend. I just have been presented with a lot of "Christians are/do..." statements, and they simply don't apply to everyone.
Just as age stereotypes don't apply to everyone either. violinlily, I had no idea you were 14! You must write some impressive papers in school.
See, I brought it back to topic. ;)

On topic: No favourite deck. This question has been asked umpteen times. No favourite readings either; there is a separate forum for this. Off topic: I think everyone, regardless of age, should be welcomed for his or her individual insights on threads. But it would help, Tarot Babe, if you were to brush up on the way you phrase sentences, and also if you checked previous threads to see what topics have been mentioned before (I've been guilty of that particular sin as well :P)

I thought you were about 16 originally, so I'm a good guesser, hehe. But you do carry yourself well, as Khatruman as noted. Now that you've brought age up, I wonder how old people think I am :P

No lower age limit, no upper age limit :)
As long as you are able to post coherently ... well, semi-coherently ... well, as long as you are able to post you are welcome here :)

It didn't happen to me, but I heard about it later. A friend was at a science fiction convention in Minnesota about 10 years ago, doing readings late around midnight, & had a guy sit down with a stupid smirk on his face & say that no card reader was ever able to give him a reading.
My friend shuffled (this is a used deck that's totally randomized, remember, with reversals & all in it). He did a lay with 7 cards, looked, and put down a few more, and more.........he ended up with the ENTIRE major arcana on the table, in sequence.
The guy just laughed, my friend was disgusted and told him that trying to 'out-God God wasn't the way to go'. Then he had to spend 10 minutes randomizing the deck again just to get rid of the nasty feeling he had off that.

Actually... I thought it sounded like a pretty reasonable question from someone brand new to the forums. Yes, the discussions of favorite card or deck have been done quite often, but TB13 didn't do the search or check the right threads... oh my... Doesn't bother me. And 13? No sweat... I was 13 once... I think... Now, I'm 4... er... never mind, I feel old enough today as it is.
Anyway... My fave deck (right now) is still the Röhrig Tarot, though the Victoria Regina is right behind it. My favortie card varies on an almost daily basis it seems. It kind of comes down to which card, cards, or suits I'm studying at the time... i'm kind of fickle that way. ;)
My favorite reading? Hmmm... there was one I did a week or so ago for a coworker which just went super smooth, was very accurate, and everything just fell right into place for me. It had to do with a relationship problem, it really helped her out too.
Age limit? I like that... perhaps the next person who claims there should be an age limit should be considered as being too old? :joke:

when i first joined this forum, at the ripe-old-age of thirty-three, i felt rather embryonic with my lack of knowledge about tarot. my chronological age offered me very little.
it's all relative, and we're all here to give and learn.
BTW, my faves are visconti, triple goddess, and diamond.
