Do you think in tarot scenes?
I've been using scenic tarots to explore the idea that I'm mentally writing a personal 'screenplay'. The idea is to practice this as I write up my own tarot's stories and doing journal topics. When I say scenic tarots, I mean a tarot that has a scene for each card, even the suits.
A Ten of Cups time
1. (Tarots of the Renaissance:Trevisan)
The card scene-a monkish character gives drink to a traveller--a full table of cups is awaiting for guests.
We were sitting after a good meal, four people who shared Pakastani Indian curries with leftovers to spare. We all a day off from work tomorrow. It was after nine-thirty in the evening and we were contemplating digestion, dessert and a nice family atmosphere where you walk up to the takeout window for the bill. They won't tally your bill before you are ready or bring it to your table: you could rent this space for as long as you want and they'll bring you water or what-have-you as long as you sit.
We shared old jokes that we had all forgotton, the kind of jokes that third-graders tell with silly puns. The kind of jokes you can string people along until they say with a shake-of-the-head, "oh you didn't..." Some of the punchlines included, "Hare today, goon tomorrow"; "The poodle on the airplane wing had a brick in her mouth; Silly rabbit, Kicks are for Trids...."
Anyway, the warm feeling that we left our friends seemed to be captured when I remembered this tarot this morning. It was fun to think my mental shorthand is thinking tarot.

Hi Mari,
Since taking up learing tarot, I have started seeing and feeling the images everywhere. I often find myself asigning particular cards to particular people that I am interacting with, depending on their persona, situation, type of interaction. When I catch myself doing that, first I giggle a little to myself, and, if it is a particularly difficult interaction, I try to figure out how to balance the situational energy given what I know about the card I assigned, or give myself an "opposite" card assignment. It helps detach me from the situation as well as offers a bit of entertainment in a difficult moment.

I would think some tarotists with a knack for journaling would create stories for different cards and write them up. Some of these could be particularly good for guided meditations utilizing the cards, especially the Major Arcana, though there would be no reason to only do the majors, if the venturer is not engaged in ceremonial magic and/or kabalah.
And what about studying a card just as you go to sleep, and try to take that scene with you into your dreams?

Me, Tarotphelia and someone else do the opposite.
For example, now I am writing I am making a Knight of Swords situation happen: I am spoling everyone's fun :D *LOL*

Don't know about "seeing" things in relation to scenes in the Tarot, though certain situations have certainly brought certain Tarot cards to mind. One thing I've been finding myself doing more lately is having Tarot cards pop into my mind when I hear certain songs. For instance, I'm something of a Devo fan and can't listen to "Girl U Want" without thinking of The High Priestess.
Then, the song, by Underworld, which now appears in my "signature" always brings to mind a certain card too... take a look at that and see what card it brings to mind for you. ;)

Since you said swords, I thought of Nine of Swords and Ten of Swords. But the Knight of Swords could be running to meet this fate, after seeing some harm come to the Page of Swords.
Now I am thinking of the shield maiden of Rohan falling in defense of her uncle and her brother mistakenly thinking she is dead in the Lord of the Rings.
I jumped to a story association immediately...

Sounds like the Tower to me, (with some Hermit thrown in there too.)
