It may well be (probably is!) just me, but every time I look at Frieda Harris' Prince of Swords, I always get the impressions it has a slightly... for want of a better word "unfinished" look? It just doesn't *seem* to have quite the detail of the other cards. Hmmm, Maybe it was a Friday afternoon? Maybe she just got to the point of saying "Look Aleister, take it or leave it!". But I like to imagine some very human reason behind this. I often think I would have liked to have been a "Fly on the wall" during that particular period of interaction. Heheh ;)

P.S. Reading the Book of Thoth account of the characteristics of the Prince of Swords, I had thought for one minute it sounded slightly autobographical. But I see A.C.'s birthdate was Oct 12 1875 which kinda makes him Q (3) of Swords? Darnit :D

Wow, you're right! Never really noticed this before as this card doesn't seem to come up very often in my readings, so I just went and flipped through my deck and sure enough, every other card was rich with detail except this one.
Really makes me wonder, especially considering that the meaning implies restricting the scientific outlook and/or limiting the imagination. Therefore what I'm wondering is that given the above meanings, was the detail left out of this card's picture to signify those purposes?
Interesting.

Thanks for the assignment Mystique. I could only find the YEAR for Lady Harris.
On reflection I think making comments on your "boss" in such a way would have been unlikely to secure much in the way of "career advancement" - Albeit satisfying? (Been tried, believe me!) Interesting about the restricting and limiting, Tarotist. There are indeed those qualities - Enough to be decidely intriguing? ;)
Hmmm, The Tower also seems to be a (lesser) departure too? Almost a Guernica-like quality to that one - It's that EYE at the top maybe? :D
