I know this is a very long shot, but I just wonder if by any luck anyone here can give me any information about Madame de Thebes, who was a famous tarot reader in Prague's Golden Lane ("Street of the Alchemists") in the 1930s-1940s?
We found one brief reference to her in a book, but can't find anything else. She sounds like a very brave woman. She was apparently warned by the Gestapo to stop predicting that the war would end with a Nazi defeat, and she refused, and said it's what she saw and she would go on predicting it, so eventually they executed her. Quite an amazing story. We would love to find out more about her.
Best wishes,
Karen
