Hi, I'm looking for people who write journals and would be interested in joining a tarot journalling project. We're selecting a number of people to keep online journals based on the tarot readings we give them each week.

If you're interested you can get more info here:

http://www.townmystic.com

Thanks all,
Gage

I guess I don't really understand what it means to keep a journal "based on" tarot readings you give us. Do we write our thoughts on the reading, or do we write about our lives with reference to the reading, or what exactly?

We're looking for people who can apply the readings to their lives. The readings are designed to be focused on directing and advising the journal keeper, rather than an exercise in divination.

It looks like it's going to be an interesting website. I hope you'll stick around and join in here too?

Without a doubt :)

It sounds like a fascinating project and one up my personal alley. Do you mind telling us more, here in this forum-thread, your inspiration for it? I'd love to see into your personal creative process as well as email you and share a little of my own when I get home from work.

In addition and just as importantly, welcome to Aeclectic! I think this is an amazing tarot community and hope enjoy joining us here.

Thank you Laurel :) This is an amazing community. I've been going through the entries and I'm feeling pretty chupped for coming across it.

Ok, let me tell you how the idea for the journal project came about.

A group of us read tarot professionally and while we were setting up an online business, during the course of it we started to ask the question, how can we give back to the community that supports us? And, what would *I* want to receive from a place I supported?

Well, we decided, that since tarot for us is a means of empowerment and transformation - using tarot as a guide to how to best approach an area of our lives - that if we didn't read cards ourselves, that is what we would want to receive.

Sometimes you just want someone to tell you what to do! And if they did it for free, then all the better :)

So we brainstormed. We came up with several ideas based on each of our individual interests. We're each of us very creative, and it struck us that if we could blend tarot with a project that would also encourage people's creativity, then we would not only be giving back to the community by way of free readings, but also, none of the receivers would be passive.

Since the theme of the website is empowerment and transformation, and this can only be achieved if someone takes action to empower and transform themselves, we realised that a creative project would make taking that action a little less painful, a little less like a chore, something they should get around to doing.

And there's nothing more empowering and transformative than someone taking action.

This is why the journals will receive readings that revolve around the best course of action. As well as influences, and the like.

We were happy to realise, too, that this will help serve the community as a whole, because there's nothing quite like comparing your life to others and finding it fits nearly seamlessly. So if a course of action sets off lightbulbs in a reader's mind, then we are doubly blessed.

Unfortunately, because we can't maintain a huge group of journals, we have the sad task of picking through some truly wonderful samples. But please don't think we don't want you to burden us with any more samples :) .. samples are good.

There are other projects we are putting together for those involved in doing journals. Those will come in the form of competitions, and those too will encourage people to focus on different areas of creativity. But those will come when the site is given birth to.

So if you *are* interested in what we're looking for, (or if you want to know when the site is up) feel free to visit.

Thank you again for the welcome :) .. I hope to build a happy nest here.
