Hi all,
Some of you know that I have ventured out into the world of "pro reading", and today I had my very first PAID reading (actually I had 2;)) I have a sister-in-law who owns a small cafe just out of town and we put our heads together and advertised my readings, and I have one day (Tuesdays) where I go and stay there for most of the day, as opposed to taking appointments. I 'officially' started last Tuesday, and wasn't really expecting any readings for at least a couple of weeks......but Today, the second week, I had 2 drop in readings. The first lady was a first timer, and that went extremely well.
I have to tell you that the butterflies were have a field day in my tummy.:D, but when it came to crunch time, I was very relaxed and composed, comfortable and confident... Phew!!
To add to my EXCITEMENT..:D:D:D!!, the second lady was asked by another patron in the cafe how she like it, and she replied.."Great....she's good!". That really made my day!
I was that excited that I had forgotten to have lunch, and I bought a lovely bottle of Chardonnay to share with my hubby later (only to be told he had to go to a meeting..:() but we are keeping it for another night, and it didn't dampen my 'high'...no way anything could.
You know the very first thing I had to do ..after..(cooking the evening meal, bathing the kids, kissing hubby goodbye, putting the kids to bed)....was to get on here and tell all my Aeclectic friends about my wonderful day...
Cheers
Kazz

Not at all surprised that it went well for you, Kazz. Someone asked what deck you used. I was wondering what spread(s) you used and did you use reversals. Can't remember what side of the fence you are on with that one.

Thanks everyone for your kind and uplifting words!..Uh yes!..I am STILL on a high..:D
Diana..Yes indeed, funny how things always have a way of coming back around..;).....:* back at ya!
Pollux...Actually, I did have the Sacred Circle with me, but at the last minute I decided to use my 'ole faithful' Rider Waite deck, cause we have been together for such a long, long time and I just had to use it for my First!!!:D
As far as spreads go, I used a 7 card horseshoe spread that always tells me what is happening around the querent at present and gives me an idea of their situation.
Next I then ask what they want to touch base on in particular, and then I choose a spread to suit, like a quesion spread for a definate answer (I have a few different types) and basically go with what I think is best at the time and for that particular query.
Reversals, well funny enough!, one of the ladies split the deck in 2 and did a 'card shark' type shuffle, whilst doing that, one half of the deck was turned in reverse, so when she chose her cards, they were ALL reversed, so I just turned them back and read them the right way up, as 'intuition' would have it.
BTW I have to recommend that first 7 card spread, I found it relaxes both me and the client, as there is no pressure to start things off with a certain question or situation...works extremely well
I am DEFINATELY going to open that bottle of chardonnay very soon....tonight! if all goes well.
edited to add
Cheers

This has always given the reading as to "what is happening around the querent now' but you can use for a 'what will happen'
7 Card Horseshoe Spread
3----------4-----------5
2-----------------------6
1-----------------------7
1. Home and family
2. Work and career
3. Relationships
4. Achievements
5. Energies around you
6. Money and property
7. Lesson to be learned
I love this spread ;)
Cheers

Thanks Trogon and theredhead.:D
Oh yes...theredhead please let me know what you thought of the spread...when I first used it and ever since, it has always been for what is happening now, but it may be different for you, so I would be interested to hear your view.
Cheers

This is great news Kaz! So far, all my clients have come to me via on-line chat or telephone. *sigh* Wish I had a place I could go to do readings.
That's a very comprehensive spread. I like it. :)
