I sometimes find that, when I'm really in the right mood and can connect to the querant, I can predict the cards before they are drawn.
Does this mean that I am influencing the cards, or that I am just seeing a few seconds ahead?

I would think that your use of the cards has honed your clairvoyant skills - that you know what they're going to tell you before you even read them. I'd say that's not a bad thing. :)

I agree with scheherazade. I can't see ora's but I was once told that most tarot readers, their cards will have the same ora that their owner has. As if the cards have become an extension of the owner. I think it's neat that you can see what the cards are before they turn up. I think it's just you becoming more connected with your cards as well as developing your psyche.
I heard of a woman (that lives somewhere around where I am) that is a blind tarot reader. She's (supposedly) 60 yrs old or so, been reading since she was a child. Had an accident and went blind, but continued to read. She knows the cards that turn up and supposedly she's never wrong. I asked a girl that went to her regularly if she was sure she wasn't a "fake". The girl replied that her eyes floated and rolled lazily like a blind persons does. Which I would think is hard to fake. I haven't even seen any actors that can do it, although they've tried, and often where dark sunglasses to better act out this trait.

It had never happened to me. BUT, since I'm having regular reads, I have kind of "feel" several ... hunchs? for example, when somebody tries to reach me, I know it, by telephone, email or anything. I feel them, I know they need to talk to me, and not always with close friends, but specially when the cant contact me directly. And when something big happens, I feel it too. I can be miles away, and I just know. Sometimes I know the subject. It is the first time I speak about this "in public", but I now you wont put me in rehabilitation ;)

I think it's own to the fact that when you're giving a reading for either yourself or somebody else, you know what you're doing the reading about, so you possibly also know not only the possible Past influences, but through life experience, you can tell what will probably happen in the future and you can usually know what advice cards will come up, cuz you know what advice you'd give.
For instance, somebody comes to you for a reading and says: 'I don't know what to do, I've been having an affair for the last two years, and I think my husband has found out.' You can pretty much know what is gonna happen to that person in the near future, and the cards only confirm this. It's pretty obvious, except in a few exceptional cases, that the husband HAS found out, and that he will confront his wife. Given this, we can usually guess at the cards that may come out.
Well, that's a non-esoteric theory that holds well with scientists. I'm not an expert on clairvoyance or psychism, so it could possibly be that but I don't know!

I agree that you can think of what the outcome may be. But how does that influence the fact that you know exactly what cards you are going to pick, when you pick them blindly? Or does the knowledge influence the cards you pick, even if they are picked blindly...
I hope I'm not too confusing, but I'm very curious as to how you think about that.

Does this mean that I am influencing the cards, or that I am just seeing a few seconds ahead? Hi Happiness... I'd say that, to me, it sounds like you're getting to a point where you may not be needing Tarot cards to do "readings" on people. Rather than influencing the cards or just "seeing a few seconds ahead", you may be sensing what needs to be addressed and mentally interpreting it in your vision of the Tarot. Then, when the cards come up they're essentially the same as what you'd already sensed for the querrent.
Basically, I'm thinking you may be able to see what things are influencing their (the querrent's) lives... how their feeling... where they're going. Have you tried "reading" for a querrent without using the cards? Have you tried other methods to focus your thoughts such as scrying or reading of their auras? Just something you might want to think about...

hi happiness, i get that sometimes too, like i hear the question, shuffle the cards while thinking about the spread and somehow already "know" what i will see. perhaps not card by card - but a strong feeling - like: "lots of majors, cups and i bet i will have a knight in there too..."
sometimes i am wrong but most of the times i am spot on.
i do try to not let those pre-feelings influence my interpreting of the cards too much though - but rather note them down, go on with the reading and then check back to see if i was right afterwards. so i use it more as a backup thing. perhaps because i still doubt my ability to be "psychic" instead of a tarot-reader.

I have this "problem" too. What concerns me is I know what I want them to say, and I am afraid that it will influence it. I have this problem when working with a pendulum, also. I can ask it a question and want a certain answer so baldy that I will influence the way it swings.

This is what I was trying to say, and Trogan said it far more eloquently than me! We are Tarot readers, but we are also human, and thus we give people our own personal opinions or advice based on their situation, and this advice or opinion just happens to be the same as the Tarot would say!

So, I am not influencing the cards, but I am in touch with the querrant, and so am responding in the same way the card does?

yes but I would also like to add one other idea. Ora readers will tell you that often the cards will take on the ora of their owner. In essence, the cards are a reflection of what you would tell them if you knew all the details, the advice that you would give.
I believe that the tarot is just a reflection of who the owner is, yet it does have it's own energy, but that energy mixes with the ora of the owner and relfects the owners ideas/opinions and way of life.
You and your tarot are on the same wave length, and I agree that you are getting to the point where you don't need tarot anymore. After all, tarot and other things used for divinations/readings are only tools to help define and direct what we want to channel, and to hopefully further our growth in our abilities in the process. Seems that you have achieved such.
Maybe try doing some practice readings with out the tarot here at aeclectic?
