Have you had a read about this? Hear yourself with your tarot.
Tell us more so we can give a better opinion... how much experience you have, its enough to teach? Why does he wanna learn from you? To teach... maybe a teacher who is around here can enlight you a little... ;)

Hi Charmed!
In general, I think that sharing tarot with a friend in a mentor-student manner is a fun approach, and helpful. It is a very good way to build a bond with a friend. On the other hand, I think like teaching someone anything a lot depends on the personalities involved.... is this someone you can teach? Are you, by your nature, someone who'd make a "good enough" teacher? Those are answers that lie in your heart, all our hearts.

Perhaps I'm biased b/c I love teaching. I'm studying to become a elementary school teacher. But I love teaching anyone anything I can, boy I would JUMP at this oppourtunity. I would say do it, and have fun. Don't forget, teachers are constantly learning and studying themselves, having to brush up on the material their going over. And sometimes, you learn with your students too. Wow, your lucky, I WISH someone would ask me to help them learn tarot! GO FOR IT!

I'm not sure how much experience with tarot you have. Not that a ton is neccessary to understand the cards. Some people pick it up right away, intuitively... and others study for a long time and still have trouble understanding.
My question: Do you feel experienced enough to teach? Or are you still learning the basics too? If you are still learning basics, maybe a "study group" with your friend would be a better idea. You can bounce ideas and interpretations off of each other, keep each other motivated, journal together, read for each other, etc. Or if you don't want to do that, then maybe just reccomend a few good books, and tell your friend that he/she can call you if they need some help or advice. That is a less formal approach than actually "teaching".

as teaching means sharing knowledge to me I would say: go ahead ! Your friend asks for your assistance - why not give it ?

Thanks for all your replies.
I guess within me I have yet to come to peace with Teaching Tarot.
Sharing is fine. GIving assistance is fine.
Teaching it as a Workshop is something else.
My experience with Tarot is 16years.
Tarot was never taught to me by any person.
I need to comtemplate on this more.
