(i didn't know where i ought post this so feel free to move it if appropriate)
my deck sits in a little wooden box next to a deck of regular gaming cards.
ever since they were put in this proximity, the gaming cards have been "acting funny"; certain card combinations keep coming up 100% of the time no matter who shuffles or what. has anyone else had some sort of weird thing happen when your deck is in the proximity of the other things? has it affected your decks "acuracy" in a reading?
i have taken my deck away from the gaming cards, but .. the efect they had still seems to be there. does anyone have any ideas on how to un-do that affect on my gaming cards? its kinda spooking me out here.
thanks, hexy

When things come up regularly- there is generally a message that is trying to get through. I suggest that you correlate the card combinations to tarot cards (not sure how, search the forum- heaps of info available) and I'm sure you will find a message that is extremely insightful and important to you.
It hasn't happened to me with playing cards, but if you can read life, it's always giving you signs and messages.

if you feel like your cards are somehow "contaminated" energy wise, there are quite a few things you can do to "clear" the cards. these are things i've done and had some level of success with.
1. shuffle and re-order the deck
2. put in a container and put a thin layer of rock salt over the cards. let them spend a few days there. the rock salt absorbs any negativity. you may want to put a paper towel or foil or plastic wrap between the cards and the salt to make certain the salt can't damage the cards. i don't think it will but better to be safe.
3. doing a healing ritual by moonlight
4. keep the deck with you to infuse the deck with your energy
5. sleep with the deck under your pillow
6. smudge the deck with some sage
7. by candlelight, order and bless the cards. image the cards clean again and protected by white light.

thanks for your responses
i have thought of looking up what the recurring patterns mean
its usually four cards the same (esp four aces) or a royal flush so to speak
about this:
"4. keep the deck with you to infuse the deck with your energy"
well my deck is in a little wooden box lately cuz i have been in a rather negative space and i didn't want to yuck em up since they work so well for me in a better state of being, to which i hope to return soon
thanks again

If your regular cards are coming up with the same combinations over and over get a poker game together with some people with lots of money to lose!
But really, playing cards are cheap. Why spend the money on the rock salt when you can just buy a new deck of cards?

a box of rock salt isn't but around $1.00 usd. a new tarot deck runs $15 to $35+ for the cheap decks. let's not even go in to the more expensive ones--at oh! $150 to $800 a pop. salt is cheaper unless you are talking about a regular playing deck.

I thought Hexy was complaining about the regular playing cards acting weird not the tarot cards. By all means smudge or otherwise cleanse the tarot cards if they need them. If the playing cards are acting weird just get a new deck.

Could it just be that since you have been using the tarot cards, that you have become more aware of other things going on around you? This may have been going on before, but you didn't recognize it or connect it to anything. A similar thing happened to me when I began studying runes, I became more aware of the world and starting "getting" the messages.
What are the combinations that keep popping up? It is possible to relate the suits of regular gaming cards to the suits of tarot.. perhaps there is a message there.

Darn, Woof beat me to this but PLAY POKER!!! :D:P, not trying to make light of the situation, but perhaps there is a message there somewhere... and as clear as that seems, well, find out that message.
Four aces? Beginnings of something? Royal Flush, which would have the court cards of a suit and an ace, Hmmmm, work on this.
Throwing the cards???? WAIT.. give them to me ~puts on his poker visor and calls up his buddies :D, telling them, "Bring lots of money.."~
