unwanted deck

I have a deck someone gave me a while ago. It's the Hindal Tarot. I like it but I wanted to burn it because it made me very uncomfortable after the person who gave it to me and I stopped getting along. Some friends of mine advised against buring a deck and helped me cleanse it. Even though it's pretty energyless now, I don't like having it around. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Trade it on the exchange! There are lots of folks there looking to get their hands on decks and perhaps you could get on that you would like. If you don't want to do that and the deck makes you feel uncomfortable, throw them away. It is afterall just a deck of cards.

a case of projection.

projecting your feelings and thoughts about your friend who obivously hurt you onto the symbol of friendship that once was.

the tarot is innocent in this case,

the act of burning them (they are after all just symbols and pictures on cardboard) would symbolize to your subsconscious a burning away of the old chords between you two.

yet why burn something as a waste of energy when you could give it as a trade to someone or simply a gift, and if you do the trade you could get a new deck which will have no connections for you to your ex friend.

I was going to do that but then I thought maybe no one would want them.

Fatham..check out all the trade lists..see if there is someting you want..I for one am interested in the Haindl tarot..check out my list...but like Holmes was saying..If it would make you feel better..by all means burn them (i vote for trading)

Trade them or sell them, that's a $35 deck if it's got the book with it!

I'm frugal, can't see anyone wanting to toss or burn one when someone else can use it!

cheekyminx had a deck that gave her bad vibes, as well, but in her case, her deck had no reason to dislike her. In your case, the situation has made changes in your personal relationship with your deck - but they would not necessarily make negative the deck's relationship with another reader, unless that reader also has beef with the person who gave you the deck. I would say trade this one... though it's a shame. I rather like the Haindl - I'd keep it just for that reason.

lol Yes. I had a deck that spooked me out & I followed my sisters advice & burnt them. If there's a simpler way of getting rid of those cards then do it. Trade them in, or give them to an Op shop or leave them in the park. But you might as well try to get some money back on the cards or a deck you like. You should see the thread I started.....

Have fun looking at it ;)
