Just out of curiosity, what card are you most drawn to, or what card can you identify wiht most? I personaly LOVE the High Priestess! althought y, im not sure. She just seems to draw me in! And her meaning is probably the nicest out of all of the cards, hidden meanings. Well, post back!

Wow I love your name! I take it you liked His Dark Materials, also? Okay, sorry I couldn't resist :D
I'm drawn most to Strength. The strength card draws me so much, I suppose, because of the trust the woman shows with the lion (my zodiac, also) and the fact that as tiny as she is she is unafraid of the lion because she has gained his loyalty through friendship.

Hi, I'm new to this forum! It's funny that you should ask about identifying with a card, because I have the opposite problem. I have had the Knight of Swords appear in almost every reading that I've done for myself for the last seven months. It falls out of the deck when I'm shuffling...I almost feel like the card is taunting me, but I have absolutely no idea what to make of it. It's very frustrating! I'm almost at witt's end! I guess whatever the card is trying to tell me isn't going to go away until I understand it, because it's been appearing for so long now. Does anyone know what this card might be trying to say? Has anyone else had an experience like this with a court card?

Wonderful question ;)
There are many I feel drawn to.
I will mention The Empress, I feel identified with her independent personality, though I don't feel connected with her motherhood side. Anyway I consider a creative person in so many fields.
And for the suits, I love all the Aces, specially Cups and Wands.
The Wands connects me with my Aries energy.

Hmm. Good question. Depending on which deck i'm looking at....
Empress is a gorgeous card, the star is fabulous, the magician, 2 cups & the high priestess (Celtic Tarot)

Actually... I think this tends to vary for me on an almost daily basis. Weekly at least. It depends on how I'm feeling, what I'm experiencing, what card or deck I'm studying at the time, etc...
Today, I'm just not too sure. I feel a little blurry (for want of a better term) and can't seem to focus on any of them in particular... :( Hopefully this too shall pass... ;)

Goldilocks... Welcome to Aeclectic Tarot! Interesting thing with that Knight of Swords coming up so much for you lately. However, I think you would probably get a lot more responses if you were to post your question in the Using Tarot Cards forum, or perhaps the Your Readings forum. Just go into either of those forums and click on the "New Thread" button. However, the first thought that occured to me with this card relates to the Rider-Waite card - he's in full gallop, charging in. Just makes me think that it may be trying to tell you that some action is needed - you've been procrastinating on something? Anyway... I'm sure you'll get a lot more discussion on this in the Using Tarot Cards forum.

I indentify with the knight of cups, so I like it if I can sort of recognise something in that card.
The star is my favourite major and it HAS to appeal to me before I can actually consider buying a deck.

Hi all,
I have 2 favorites, but the one that "DRAWS" me is the Star from the Sacred Circle deck (just that star-RW does nothing for me).
The other card I am drawn to in most decks (especially the SC) is the High Priestest. In fact, I am ordering the charm from Wellstone as my anniversery gift, hehe..after this many years, I get to pick out my own gift (I am going to try to pull together a wholesale order).
www.wellstonejewelry.com
They have charms from the RW deck, and the best part you can choose which stone is put into the charm.
Blessings,
CJ

Thanks Trogon! I'll be sure to post my message under some of the other topics. I guess you could say that I've been procrastinating about a few things...maybe you're right. I'll have to give it some thought. The last reading I did had the knights of penticles, swords, and cups--can't be a good sign. Thanks again for your help.

I love The Star myself(maybe because I am working on self-confidence issues?)and the Queen of Cups because I think that must be my significator as I am a water sign. I also try and work on in myself the positive aspects of that card(but know I have the negative aspects also).
I am also drawn to The King of Cups because that is the kind of man I would like to have in my life-silly isn't it?
This is also quite silly and irrational,but...the Devil card creeps me out, even though its just a card.

hi celeste,
I don't think that's silly at all......I have a King of Cups friend, and it's one of my favourite cards, and one of the first I look for in a deck.
I hope you meet your King of Cups :)

Strength is my favorite...although that's not too hard to figure out if you'll notice my avatar and the way I sign my posts! ;) )
The card I usually look closely at first in a deck, though, is the Star. And my favorite Star card of all time? Why it's joya250's Star for the F.A.C.T. Deck! It's just so gorgeous.
Peace,
Melvis

I loved your art work, Melvis! I do abit myself-though I haven't attempted any personal renderings of the Tarot.

I hope I meet a new one too.

The Devil card in the Spiral deck.
He doesn't creep me out at all! What he does do is keep me aware, and on my toes. In this card, He's holding a mirror which is reflecting someone who sees the truth about what they've become. That's a lesson for me, for sure.

I am drawn to the Magus (Magician) for the potential that it implies. The wonder of manifestation, knowing that my thoughts will direct my life to whatever I am focusing upon. Also, the XX card, Judgment. In my deck, the Tarot of the Spirit, this is a beautiful card speaking to new life and new beginnings. When I draw this card I generally feel that all is right with the world

Celeste said: "I loved your art work, Melvis!"
heh...I'd love to take credit for ANY of the artwork I mentioned, but none of it is mine! :D Kayne did the avatar and the Strength icon that I sign with, and Joya250 did the Star card.
Although none of these are my own artwork, I have done a few tarot cards, too. Doing your own tarot card, even just one card, is a great experience. I think everyone who reads tarot should try rendering at least one card. You really learn so much from it.
Peace,
Melvis

The first card I look at is the star. It is my favorite, because I identify with her. She looks as if she is discovering something. I feel like I have been 'discovering' things my whole life.
I also like to see the sun and strength. I just love them too.

I have a few favourites, each for different reasons:
The Star, The Lovers, Temperance, and The Tower (it disturbs me the most). The eight of swords seems to pop up in my personal readings a lot.
The cards I like the least are for some reason the court cards, I find them hard to read.

In the Major Arcana, I am drawn to the High Priestess, Death, Moon, Devil and Tower cards (not necessarily in that order); in the Minor Arcana, I find the suit of Swords the most compelling. Court cards do not usually strike me as artistically interesting.

Major Arcana:
:THP - High Priestess
:THERM - The Hermit
Minor Arcana:
:T6C - 6 of Cups
:T9P - 9 of Pentacles
Why?
I feel the High Priestess has knowledge I'm after. I often feel like the Hermit as in my personal life I am alone in my spiritual "quest" (sorry it sounds so cliche!).
The :T6C come up very often on personal readings regarding my daughter and me. The :T9P I like for a number of reasons. I call it the "Anita" card because It reminds me so much of a friend for whom I have great respect. And I aspire to the self confidence and self discipline of the card.

I'm most drawn to the "balance" card in the Vision Quest deck !!

on this card in particular. I find it very calming and reassuring.

well, back when i used a significator, i always chose the Queen of Cups for myself...i love her beauty and the water you normally see surrounding her...
as far as cards that "draw" me...i've always loved the Empress, the Star and the Sun...i'm always so happy to see the Sun in my readings... :D
*azure wanders off..."here comes the sun...do do do do..."* LOL
many blessings to all...

The card that always "draws" me is the Sun. Whenever I buy a new deck, that's the first card I look at. I guess because it always seems so positive and cheerful. Another card that grabs my attention is the Ace of Cups. It makes me think of "my cup runneth over" and I love it's promise of new things to come, new relationships, new loves......

I identify most with the 9 of Pentacles. I think because she always looks alone but not lonely. I like the Blue Rose deck's best, but the World Spirit deck with her leaning out the window and her cat companion is nice too.

I always seem to be drawn to the Empress card, if I like the Empress in a deck I'm pretty sure I'll like the whole deck. I also seem to get this card alot, either as a leaper when I do my daily card or as my daily card which I then put to one side and draw another. :) I also like the Sun card - the Sun card (the Empress too) in the Thoth are very impressive cards.

The first card I always look at in a deck is Death. I just really love that card! Also I identify quite a bit with the Hierophant. My life/personality card is the Chariot but with my birthday being may 5th (5/5) I feel closer to the Hierophant.

I think it's the Fool and Death. Probably because I've been the Fool for the past couple of years. I jumped into a cliff without noticing it. It hasn't been easy (understatement), but I've learned a great deal from it. The past year has been all about changes. Drastic changes. Almost everything changed. Thus, Death. It wasn't easy to leave those things I was used to behind. It hurt a great deal, and took some time to get over it. But now, everything's new. A new life, after 'dying'.
Love,
Athara

My favourites vary. If I get a card that comes back in many readings I dig deeper into that card and appreciate it more.
But two old favourites of mine:
The Moon: I just love the real moon and the mystery around it (well if you want to see it) which is why I like the card.
Strength: I like the idea of getting close to a lion. And it is also a card I draw a lot so it's like an old friend to me.

Another Hierophant here! It's my soul and personality card if I recall correctly. It shows up quite a bit for me in readings, too.
My favorite is the Vertigo Hierophant followed by the Victoria Regina and Halloween.
Next, the Star. LOL, I'm a bit of a prima donna (trained for opera at one point!) and still love to perform. Also, I need all the guidance, inspiration, and hope that I can, spiritually and mentally, get! And like another poster said, I'm working on self-confidence issues, too.
The Star has been showing up in a lot of my readings lately.
