People often ask me how can I do a reading over e-mail? I say it is pure intuition and stepping into that person's shoes - what do you think? Sometimes, I wonder if it really is the best way to read?

i don't know if it is the best way to read, but it is a good way to learn.. and to test oneself, to test the limites.

yet reading one and one contary to what i said before make it worthwhile what we as tarot readers do.
to touch someone and get them to laugh when they are sad, to share their pain, to touch their hearts so they remember your reading and wonder how you doing.

that is the good caring reader, in my view and why i am still in the tarot.

first i wanted to know if i was loved by using the divination method ( i was a lonely 15 year old )
then i wanted to know , be the best.
now i settle for giving a good reading, and trying to help the client.

it is a best of both worlds to do live readings and to do absentee, distance readings.

i learned a lot doing wisdom readings. ( you can check them in under my search , and guidance or readings from the devine )

i believe no way is better, but both are essential in order to be a well rounded tarot reader.

like i believe that to base one inution on one study is better then just comign from inution or just coming from book knowledge.
in the long run. (not to say doing it purely on inuition or knowledgr from say a psychology point of view or counseloing point of view doesnt' have their merits )
but to combine them as two sides of the strenghts to find balance, is ideal . what do you think ?

Personally I prefer 'distance' readings as you can concentrate - really concentrate - without the distraction of facial expressions/body language/expectations/reactions two feet away from you.
I could never read in a pub like Kiama - I have enough distractions in life as it is :O)

I do distance readings pretty frequently, and I get plenty of positive feedback. I don't think it negatively effects the reading.

However, you can get some incredible readings when the querent is in front of you, giving feedback. I think it tends to focus the reading into something more specific. In the end, I believe the querent gets a "tighter" reading.

I think this method is something new and we have to get used to it as a new way to make readings. May be in future readings would ask themselves how we used to read without internet, who knows...
Personally, when I started reading over the net, I have questioned myself whether this way of readings was accurate or not. I have had all kind of experiences, but most of them very productive and rich for my personal growth.
I have the possibility to chose when to do the reading, when I feel my energy is higher, being able to reach a higher concentration.

On the other hand I would really like to perform more face to face readings. I am shy and sometimes I have to break the ice before starting to read for a complete stranger.
I am trying to solve this out, but online readings are helping me to improve my self trust.

I agree with what everyone has said. I felt the same way too about distance readings. They can be done (good readings too)

I think there is nothing better than 1-2-1 readings even if I do readings over the phone as well as 1-2-1's as a living.

Some people just have not got the time to take the time of work etc. or evn want to be seen.

The last reading that I had was totally judged on the way that I was dressed, which I didn't like at all.

I used to think of distance readings as a pile of s*?ƒ but I think that the case with computerized ones.

Most of my distant readings have been in the Reading Exchange and I've grown quite comfortable with the process. The results seem to be satisfactory, sometimes extraordinary (imho!). I don't get the opportunity to do too many 1 on 1 readings. It really adds a bit of pressure which I'm sure would lessen if I did them more often. No matter what the physical situation is, I rely on the belief that the right cards will always be drawn, whether it's a reading for a forum member in Australia or the person across from my desk.

I think most people at this reading exchange forum have more experience with the web and readings...people have been patient with my learning attempts. It is very good learning for me.

So here, it's okay. Outside, distant reading? I'm very uncertain about my skills, keep checking references for certain decks.

Good to see you're back. I missed ya!!!!!!!!!!

Now, some people counfound distance reading with giving a "divination" test for the reader. "If you were really good you could read my eye color, gender, sexual preference, height, weight, age, nationality and even my question".

I enjoy doing distant readings, as I find I can take my time more and am not influenced by expectations, facial expressions etc as Alison mentioned.
One possible down side is the initial lack of feedback, though if you are starting out doing distant readings by email, you could mention that you would like feedback by way of a short email in a week or two. This is a great way to see the accuracy of your readings, and also makes yourself available for any further clarification of anything that may not have been understood initially.

Also telephone readings are another way of doing sistant readings, which enables you to do readings for anyone who owns a phone, with most of the instant feedback and discussion you would get in a face-to-face reading.

The ability to read for people who are distant from us, in some AT cases, half-way around the world, I think has to do with the structure/qualities of the Universe.

Anyone who's read my take on this before is excused to go get a cup of tea. Or a gin and tonic, or whatever your pleasure. Although you can hang around and argue if you want.

It starts with atoms. Actually, it starts in the core of the atoms. When scientists (one of whom was Albert Einstein) first started examining the nucleus of atoms, they expected to find matter. Real stuff you can hold in your hand like the wood of table legs, the rubber of car tires and that kind of stuff.

Instead they found pure energy. Which, they tell us, means that all matter is, at its core, pure energy.

Others I have read say that all these energy thingees (I'm half asleep this afternoon, don't expect too much of me) are connected to each other. In other words as I understand it, everything in the Universe is connected to every other thing in the Universe.

I,myself, envision it as a kind of web-of-life, something like our own world wide web. My suspicion is that our thoughts, our ideas, our intentions ride this web. When the people we're reading for ask a tarot reader their question, their emotions, ideas, history, the impulses thus set loose, instantaneously travel this web to our (the reader's) consciousness. And into our tarot deck. Remember, it, too, is composed of pure energy and is available to the information web.

As I said, I'm nearly asleep, and can't think of a clever ending, summing up. If you have questions, just ask and I'll try to look it up.

I do plan to get to bed early tonight.

Goddess Bless,
