OK...I copied & pasted an idea from here earlier in my time here...like prolly when i first joined almost 2 monthes ago...
Now...someone's idea said that the Queen of Staffs is a Leo..and the Knight of Swords is a Gemini.
Now to me...that just sounds kinda messed up. Kn of Swords a Gemini...he sounds more like a Leo.
Kn of Swords meaning-Bravery, Skill, Heroic action, master of war (from my LWB)....now doesn't that scream Leo to yall??
Any opinons???

My knowledge of astrology is not extensive, but I do know that Leo is a fire sign and Gemini is an air sign. Therefore, assignment of signs to suits probably changes depending on whether the deck you're using (you don't say which) links swords with air and wands with fire (more traditional) or the other way around.

Hey punkangel,
I definitely don't think Knight fits most Leos, unless they have placements in a lot of air signs. Leos tend to be good managers. That means that they much prefer to direct the efforts or others rather than doing the "dirty work" themselves. Also, as felicityk mentioned, Swords is Air. Leos tend to be more about personal expression and attention rather than the gathering of information, which is more a Gemini trait.
There is a thread in Using Tarot on how courts are assigned astrological signs. You might want to check it out.
Also, you can get pretty good sign descriptions and book recommendations in the Astrology forum (though I think I remember seeing you post so you've already seen it).

i think that it is up to the reader as to which zodiac sign they assosiate with the court cards. most people tend to go with wands being fire signs, swords being air signs, pentacles being earth signs, and cups being water signs.
but then the queens are water signs etc.....
there is a good thread on astrological court cards in USING TAROT forum (sorry - i cannot post the link right now) check it out.

I agree with LittleWing - though there are a number of 'systems' eventually the reading comes down to your own rapport and feeling with the card.
I am very careful of Astrological correspondences, a topic we have debated before - Tarot is Tarot and Astrology is Astrology - there are similarites and analogues but they are not the same and we should be careful of interpreting a card 'Astrologically'.
As I said earlier I find the King of Clubs is a Neptune/Pisces type character - but he is NOT Neptune or Pisces - thinking of the sign or planet may stimulate my reaction to the card but I find that if I treat it as the sign or planet what little skill I have in card reading just melts away.
Go by your intuition.

Hear, hear. The Tarot is a unique system and I am generally not in favor of trying to impose other systems on it. If certain Tarot cards were meant from the start to correspond to astrological signs, then why did the creators of the Minchiate decks feel the need to add the signs to the existing Tarot trumps?
I'm not saying you shouldn't use an astrological interpretation if it helps you, just be aware that you're not going to find a perfect correspondence that everyone agrees on.

Yes I agree with you too!
Astrological correspondences can help but we should see it as help not a replacement for the Cards themselves - otherwise you might as well have a deck that cross references to an Astrological cookbook.
See the patterns, see the links, see the similarities to other forms of divination - Numerology is another form of divination that can help in Tarot readings but Tarot is also not Numerology - if that's all it was then forget it and buy a copy of Matthew Oliver Goodwin.
