has anyone come across a cross reference for the card meanings?
What I mean by this is; i.e
Birth/pregnany = cards X,Y,& Z
Change of job = cards E,F, & G
etc.

well not per se.
the mother card for me is the emperess for in my sacred rose tarot i had at the time the emperess is pregant .
example for that is everytime it comes up for a young woman i say BEWARE to get their attention and say the emperess card could indicate a possible pregnancy.
three of pentacles is mastering the work , 8 of pentacles for me is starting good work for a person.
but that is all i use that i am conscious off

No, I've not seen anything like that. I suppose it would have to be at least clone specific if not deck specific, as the meanings are rich and varied.
Indeed it would be a fairly big tome because even for one deck the shades of meaning would produce a fairly substantial tome. Think of the size of some of the books of key words and then think of cross referencing all the keywords.
Also I'm not sure in what context you would use it - usually a reading flows from the cards to the meanings rather than the meanings to the cards.

hummm a book full of references would be a bit tedious indeed
but I guess the more experienced you become there are certain combinations that u recognise and give a meaning too within ur range of interpretations
Meanings you give urself, not something as universal, as lets say the multiplication tables for example
I'm not that "experienced" yet... ;)
But I find it smth very interesting to share since it seems like a very important part of ur experiences with the cards and the tarot
But I am curious about what is of significance to some of you
