Hi, it's Ruby again,
I am having a little trouble shuffling my cards...I cannot shuffle them like regular cards 1 because the are too big and 2 because they end up in all different directions. If anyone has any suggestions at all I would appreciate them.
Thanks again,
Ruby

Try shuffling them sideways. I have little hands and most cards want to go everywhere but together. I find this helps..... :)
PS: Welcome aboard! Did you post a "Hey I am Here! " thread in the new members section? It's a neat way to meet everyone.

I would agree with skytwig to shuffle sideways for now. And I would also add that practice makes perfect! When your hands are idle if you're sitting watching TV or something, just grab your deck and shuffle away. :D
Or if none of this works, you could invest in a smaller deck... The Hanson-Roberts is just right for tiny hands!

I don't have small hands, but my deck is too big anyways...! :D I've started to deal the whole deck in 7 piles (deal, not cut), and then I mix the piles together bit by bit. (Take one pile and shuffle together with an other one, shuffle for a while, then take a third pile and shuffle into the first two... etc) That way I only have to have the whole deck in my hands towards the end - and then you can do the sideways thing that Kiama and Skytwig recommended!
And, as Kiama points out, there are smaller decks available... But then again, if you already found a deck that works for you and that you love... you don't really want to get another one anyways, right...? :)
There's always the "mixing the cards in a pile on table"-technique - I used that a lot when I was a kid...!
Good luck!

I have a very large deck by Carl Rohrig, and instead of "fighting" them and trying to shuffle like a regular deck of cards, I lay mine face down in one pile on the surface, then I use both hands and spread them out until there is no pile, then I re-assembe them to one pile, cut them, then lay them out. This seems to work for me, but, I only use this technique when I am practicing. If I am conducting a reading, I let the querent shuffle the cards. This allows their energy on the cards so I can read them more effectively. But always go with what "feels" comfortable for you!
