I've been doing a few readings but the decks seem to be asleep. I've placed the cards of the decks in order, bound them lightly, and left them in the open sun coming through the window. I need to get them outside and channel some energy from the local trees but the new moon is definitely creatings some havok with the readings i have done. I now have more questions then answers.

I wonder if charging a quartz crystal & setting it on top the deck would be better for you?
Rememer, this coming full moon we'll be having a full lunar eclipse! The 15th/16th (midnight time) is when it'll be happening. And another full eclipse in November I think. We get two this year.
Wonder how that'll affect the cards!

Try this. Place the deck on a black cloth, surround the deck with a circle of salt, place a black candle anointed with rosemary oil in a holder and sit it on top of the deck. Light the candle and let it burn down. Of course, do this in a place where you will be able to keep an eye on it and never leave it unattended.
When the candle is burned all the way down, remove the deck and gather up the salt in your cloth and scatter outside on the earth or in a running stream.
Then cense the cards in sandalwood smoke or any scent that you love and wrap them in a colorful silk cloth. I prefer to keep the cards out of sunlight and let them charge by the light of the moon instead.

Be cautious about where you toss the salt, it kills plants & isn't too good for the lawn (remember the phrase 'salting the earth'? Nothing grows there when you do that).
Also, make sure wax won't drip onto your deck, you can put a small piece of plastic wrap or a piece of cardboard over the top card just in case.
Those votive candles burn for up to 7 hours, but if you use birthday candles, they only take a few minutes to get all the way down. Don't leave candles unattended.
You can also pass the deck through the smoke of smudging sage or incense.

HudsonGray,
Yes, good point about the salt! I live a kilometer from the Atlantic Ocean and take it for granted that the little stream by my house that I throw my salt into runs directly to the sea.

with teh information of the lunar eclipse in two weeks that explains a lot about this lunar cycle. It is usually the time before an eclipse that my personal energy is very low and as the tarot cards i have are attuned with my energy this answeres many questions i have. also the 17th is armed forces day, connected with teh eclipse this could be the reason that my cards have been giving readings that seem to apply to recent international problems.
I left them in the light coming through the windo during sunset, the immediate readings with the thoth deck were illuminating but seemingly incomplete. the other decks seem groggy at this time. Thank you all for your excellent advise.
