The Matrix: anyone up for a game of "Spot the Major"?

*SPOILERS*

If you haven't seen The Matrix Reloaded and don't want the plot given away, read no further.

*SPOILERS*

Okay, it's pretty obvious that the Matrix trilogy is yet another Fool's Journey story, and since I'm almost done matching up events from Buffy: the Vampire Slayer with Majors, I thought I'd start on it. It's fairly obvious that Morpheus is the Magician, Neo is the Fool, the Oracle is the High Priestess and the thing at the end of the first one where he stopped the bullets, saw the code and blew up smith was Strength. Beyond that, I'm pretty sure that Neo's chat with the Architect was the Hanged Man, Trinity's "resurrection" was Death, the part at the end where Neo managed to hack the so-called "real world" was the Tower and the infamous Sex Scene that Would Not Die was the Lovers. Beyond that, what can you pick from the saga so far, Tarot-wise? Or am I being sophomoric? Thoughts??

Link, who was controlling the mother-ship of nebuchazzner(don't know the spelling) when everyone else is in the matrix as Chariot? He was practically doing things which he doesn't knows why but does it because he have to.

Key maker as the hermit? He has the key to everything or anything and is practically a loner.

Persephone acted by monica belluci as the devil?

The choice to make between saving trinity or city of zion as judgement?

Obviously the world would only appear in Matrix : Revolution which has yet gone up on the screens.

Simply guessing. lalalalala

The game of "Spot the Major" is always fun and challenging when applied to a story of any medium whose characters and events are well-crafted. The Matrix movies, IMHO, are many-layered and even "deeper" than most, so the challenge is particularly acute. My personal reaction after leaving the theater was that the story was clearly (if not intentionally, at least with regards to this particular framework) the most qabalistically-structured piece of cinema I'd ever encountered. As such, the characters and the story seem to be "traveling up and down the tree" so much that it's hard to pinpoint a single personality or event to one card. Not impossible, mind you -- just difficult. And not discouraging enough to prevent me from having the urge to throw in my "2 cents' worth."
:D

So, here's a few more possibilities. WARNING! MORE *SPOILERS*...

THE STAR: Trinity
THE MOON: By the end of the second movie, in light of the revelations made, the Oracle was a bit more "Moon-y" to me than "High Priestess-y" (although I certainly can't shake the latter association either).
WHEEL OF FORTUNE: The cycle of the repeated rise and fall of Zion, as described to Neo by the Architect
THE DEVIL: Agent Smith. I like the association of Persiphone with the Devil as well, but there are aspects of her that also correspond IMO with the Lovers. Of course, to my way of thinking, the Lovers and Devil cards are closely related, and compliment one another. For anyone who finds that observation strange, take a look at the Lovers and Devil cards in Robert Wang's "Jungian Tarot" for an "AHA!" moment.
THE EMPEROR: Council of Zion (personified primarily by Hamann)

And don't forget the Court cards...

KING OF SWORDS: Lock
QUEEN OF SWORDS: Persiphone
PAGE OF SWORDS: Cypher (from the first movie)
KNIGHT OF WANDS: Merovingian
PAGE OF CUPS: The "Spoon Kid" (from the first movie)

And the list goes on, eh?...

For that matter, look at the Lovers and Devil card on the RWS deck! Definite mirror imagery there.

If the cycle is Fortune, then who is the Architect? Heirophant, maybe to go w/the Oracle's Priestess?

Actually, making Neo fool seems apt, the whole concept of Zion seems very 'foolish'. They're elements of chaos that keeps the Matrix running.

I would have to agree with Nexorious on this one. I was thinking the same thing.
