Washington D.C. area bookstores

are so boring. They all seel the same [uninteresting] books on Tarot. The same [uninteresting] decks.

Why is it so difficult to find some... diversity?

Does anyone know good new age bookstores in this area? The big chain bookstores, I've been to all of them. All the same boredom.

Well, there's a wonderful store called "Yesterday's Memories" in Leesburg. Then there's "Woman's Wish" in Occoquan and there are a few others in the Fairfax area and supposedly one in Fredericksburg as well. I've been to the 2 I named and I really like both of them. Occoquan is closer to me, so I go there most often. I'm sure you can find websites on them both with directions!

I'm sure there are some occult shops in Ellicott city... I will see if I can find out.

Try this link for some Maryland shops- I didn't find any D.C. shops here.

You are something! I'm actually in MD, in-between D.C. and Baltimore county. I'll check these out!

Thanks Rhianon, I actually love going to south VA... even more towards the Shenandoah Valley... but I guess there I won't find any esoteric stores.

Thanks for reminding me about WitchVox jlbvt! I went on there to find a shop I couldn't remember the name of.. it's in Gaithersburg: http://www.thewalnuttree.com/thewalnuttree.htm

I met the owner briefly when I was on Elliot in the Morning talking about Wicca. I didn't talk very much though! LOL

In Georgetown right north of M (I want to say two blocks east of Wisconsin and M). It is a small shop, but is very inviting. There is a book selection upstairs. They also have discussion groups and people visit. They have a fairly ok basic Tarot assortment, lots of crystals and stones.

For the life of me I can't remember its name (even though I was jsut there last week). Something like Sun and Moon, or Earth and Sun? If I remember when I get home I will post it. It is the only one I know of in the area.

Hope that helps!

This is an old thread, but I wanted to mention a new store in Baltimore with Tarot books and classes (I believe), Breathe Books:

Also in the capital and desperate to find some kind of shop, worst part is I have no car cause who needs one in DC, but It makes it hard to get to the groovy little outside areas...

Thanks for the posts! :)
