Can a deck used for magick be used for readings?

I was hoping someone can give me a little advice about this. I have heard from many that this is not a good idea. In my case, I have a Robin Wood tarot deck that I set out to use for tarot spells. I haven't used it in a while and I don't intend to do anymore tarot spells -at least not in the near future. I really love this deck and was hoping to use it for readings. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or not? Maybe there is something I have to do to the deck. :CL

I don't see why not. The physical act of shuffling the cards should get it ready for a reading, it's not the actual 'deck' that has any problem, it's your impression of what a deck can do--what it's connected to.

Go ahead and read with it, that's what it was designed for. The only limits are what you yourself expect the deck not to do.

:) Thanks a lot! That is what my heart was telling me. I felt okay with it. I just wondered if there was something I should worry about. I did a reading with those cards anyway and it came out very accurate and enlightening. Thanks again :) :CL :CL :CL

I agree with Hudson Grey. Your Robin Wood deck (great deck BTW) is simply a tool which contains a subset of graphics. The deck may abosrb some energy for brief periods of time, but it has no personality or will. It will be useful in any way you see fit.

Blessings of the day,

Thanks, Brad.

I noticed on your profile that you are into astronomy. I am interested in that but not sure where to start. Do you have any advice for me?

If you have a computer with scanner and printer ...you can scan in the cards you use and make copies of them for your magick. I think I am going to try this the next time I want to use a card from one of my decks for an intention.

Why not? I'm sure the cards won't mind! ;)
The 'problem' is in your head - just re-think it and it won't be a problem anymore!

Thats a great idea - but I don't have a scanner yet. When I get one I will try it out. Thank you both for your input :)
