I never cease to be amazed at how multidisciplinary the tarot is. For example, the study and use of tarot can relate to many areas of the university curriculum:
Folklore, Mythology
History
Fine Arts
Art History
Physics
Biology (especially if you begin to study the botanical details of the Tarot de Marseille)
Religion and Spirituality
Psychology
Philosophy
Anthropology
Sociology
Cultural Studies
Women's Studies
Literature
Political Science
Medieval Studies
Cognitive Science and Artificial Intelligence
Mathematics
Semiotics and Communication Theory
Creative Writing
Music (e.g., the assignment of musical notes to Major Arcana)

You are so right, Rusty Neon! That was one of the key factors in my getting really involved in tarot.
I've always been rather scatterbrained, getting interested one field then another, reading a wide array of books. When I found tarot, and all the themed decks based on it, it was just heaven! Finally there was a key that seemed to tie things together. It's like tarot is a template that you can fit so many subjects onto. Hence the nature of the archetypes, I guess!
All hail our favorite alma mater, the University of Tarot! :D
Peace,
Melvis

Yayy, where's my degree, LOL
Absolutely spot on guys.
I think from reading many posts over my time here that many of us were doing a Neo and looking for 'something'. Something broad and encompassing and quite a few have found it in Tarot.

Alas... I was going to try to compose an alma mater song for the University of Tarot... but my poetry circuits seem to be malfunctioning... :P
I sure hope I don't have to sing it before I get in line for my diploma... assuming I ever graduate...
But yes... the curriculum at our little school here is quite Aeclectic... :D Broad ranging, but very enlightening...

I've always found political theory (which sometimes counts as philosophy, sometimes as poli. sci., sometimes as its own thing) to be most helpful.
'Specially Plato, Nietzsche, Machiavelli and Rousseau. And Leo Strauss.

If we want to include those of us who keep a Tarot journal, we can add creative/non-fiction writing to the list of courses studied...ooo and rhetoric can also go on the list. We look at how well books are written and how well decks are designed all the time.
Of course, I wonder do you EVER graduate from this particular university? Gods know, I'm not sure what the graduation requirements would be...
BTW Trogon, write that song! :D

Wonderful, isn't it, how such a tool which arises out of the early Renaissance can itself transform us into a Renaissance Wo/Man! :)
