I was checking on the Wellstone Jewelry webpage (www.wellstonejewelry.com). Not only do they carry little tarot card pendants, but they've done interpretations of some of the majors as figure pendants. I wish I had the money to buy some of these!
No, I don't work for them. ;) I just wanted to share my tarotholic lust.
Also, does anyone know of other places that sell tarot jewelry?

I'm sorry, I don't know any other places that sell Tarot jewelry, but I just wanted to say that, wow - you're right, the pendants on this link ARE beautiful. Now, the easiest way to go about finding more stuff like this would be to ask the trusty old search engine. No doubt you'll have to order what you need, and it will take longer than you'd like for your things to arrive, but...

Great site.
Must be a way to make a pendant... maybe reduce a picture down to maybe 1" x 2" and cover in some kind of clear coating or plasticine.... or use Sculpy to craft individual interpretations...that would be cool......anybody have ideas?

Ok..so shrinky dinks might night work....BUT decopage the reduced image onto wood..or something..add more dangle beads off the bottom..seed beads..GLASS of course..make a bead and cord necklace...
My mind is whirling..I may just have to try this..I'll keep you posted.
In the mean time..I'm off to drool over wellcraft's "High priestest"..
Blessings

Hope this helps, Donna.

Sorry..... I know, but....
I really want to try the sculpy version, and will do so after my move next weekend.
I was wondering, too, for those who do the melting glass thing (can't remember the name) maybe some kind of images could be created with glass and heat......
And what about seed beading..... especially if the pendant is a bigger version..... glue, stitching.
Oh, quilting!!!! ..... sorry CJ, once this mind gets rolling.....

If you do it right, polymer clay like Sculpey will pick up images like Silly Putty does. It won't work straight from a tarot card because the card is usually laminated. If you can manage to make a copy of the image on a laser printer with toner rather than ink, then lay a sheet of clay over it and rub it all over with a spoon or other tool, it should work.
You could also try making a regular copy of the image and going over all the black lines with pencil, then laying the clay over it and burnishing with a spoon again. Colored pencils might work with this too.
The image will be reversed, but that's a way to do it. Otherwise, trace a card onto a sheet of shrinkable plastic. It will shrink to one third of its size, which would probably be a nice size for a pendant. Wal-Mart carries shrinkable plastic (in this area, at least), or you can order it from the Klutz books website, I think.
I can also see bead weaving working, but it would be more labor-intensive. Worthwhile if you stick to it, though.

Hi,
1st, my favorite card, the sacred circle star card..
SO, I found it on the puter, copied it, shrank it using a pait program that came with the puter and decopage (glued the daylights) it onto a piece of thin cardboard. Painted the cardboard back black and will go from there...Maybe add the image to a peice of sculpy clay and hmmmm
As far as quilting tarot..this is amazing:

This women has done a wonderful job on her tarot quilts..and if you read about the cards, you can see she actually had her family posing for the cards..
So much tarot, so little time..lol

CJ - wow! Loved that quilt! I can imagine making a small one as a wall hanging......
and thanks for the imprint idea..... I like the idea of using colored pencils (I am a Prismacolour artist) on white sculpey..... yum!
And what about collage? Teeny weeny cutouts, maybe a few gemstone chips.... glitter.... :)
